Mission Statement

Finance Controller to support the Finance team by maintaining the integrity of the financial accounting rules and compliances for all EMENA Buckman entities. To do so, the Finance Controller will partner up internally (peers, manager & other departments) and externally (accountants, audit firms).

Expectations for the role

• Audit & Compliance: Lead internal and external audits, conduct internal reviews, and ensure all financial policies, processes, controls, and system maintenance are regularly updated for compliance and audit readiness
• Strategy Execution & Reporting: Actively contribute to the implementation of the Buckman Europe Strategy and ensure timely, accurate, and qualitative financial reporting in compliance with corporate and local standards and regulations
• Financial Management: Oversee the monthly closing process, validate financial reports, manage account reconciliations, and ensure proper document flows are in place for all processes. Prepare consolidation and annual accounts, ensuring timely submission
• Tax Compliance & Optimization: Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT and CIT returns, and coordinate CIT estimations for Belgium. Advise management on tax changes and maximize the use of tax credits, deductions, and incentives while ensuring compliance with tax legislation
• Collaboration & Risk Management: Work closely with finance analysts, financial managers, and other departments to ensure accurate financial commentary, identify trends, and minimize risks related to fraud, misappropriation, and financial discrepancies
• Policy Development & Internal Controls: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial policies and procedures, ensuring efficient controls are in place to prevent wasteful or unauthorized expenditure

Minimum requirement to apply

• Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in controllership
• Experience in working within a multicultural environment is highly valued, ensuring adaptability and effective collaboration across diverse teams
• Strong knowledge of tax and VAT regulations is essential, with the ability to manage and interpret complex financial data
• SAP knowledge is considered an advantage, enabling efficient financial operations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Highly independent and self-motivated, with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines autonomously
• Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of French is a significant advantage
