Job Details

Job description

CrazyGames, one of the largest platforms for browser games globally, is seeking a VP of Marketing to grow our userbase from 35 MAU to 50 MAU and beyond. We’re a small team of experts who are building a strongly growing product at a global scale, and we’re looking for an experienced marketing leader to further accelerate this growth. Your focus will be split between Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, and Communication.

  • Your main objective is to personally build out our Product Marketing:
    • To turn visitors into users, and users into ambassadors through product initiatives based on a deeper understanding of our users.
    • To encourage the game developers on our platform to submit more games, improve their current games, and refer other game developers to our community.
  • You will manage our team of SEO, Paid User Acquisition, and Social Media experts that are focused on both acquiring new users and bringing more game developers to the web. In these areas we already have significant expertise, so the goal is to strengthen these areas, while establishing a consistent brand voice across all channels.
  • You will also lead all communication efforts towards our millions of users, as well as hundreds of game developers and partners, through marketing campaigns, newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and most importantly, the copy across the entire product.

Key outcomes for the role:

  • Within 1 month, you thoroughly understand our product and all its functionalities. You’ve made at least 5 significant improvements to our communication on the platform and in our marketing materials.

  • Within 3 months, you thoroughly understand our market and users through market research, our analytics, and representative and professional in-person interviews and surveys. You have a clear plan for our (Product) Marketing strategy in the coming year. You will also initiate and take the lead of an upcoming strategic project.

  • Within 6 months, you’re confidently managing our Growth Marketing team, resulting in 50% aggregate growth of our social media channels, meeting our ambitious SEO and UA targets, and at least 3 published press releases in major publications. You collaborate with the Product team to ensure marketing strategies are aligned with the product roadmap and to create a structured process for incorporating user feedback into product development.

  • Within 12 months, your Product (Marketing) improvements and initiatives have improved retention by 5%, and platform virality by 10%. Our overall userbase has grown by 30%. You have established a unique and cohesive brand voice across all of our marketing channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies that align with product and growth objectives towards both our users and game developers.

  • Primarily focus on establishing and growing the Product Marketing function, concentrating on audience understanding and engagement strategies.
    • Oversee thorough research on market trends, user behavior, and competitor analysis to inform marketing initiatives and product development.

    • Develop our unique selling proposition(s) and create a customer journey to identify touchpoints for effective marketing interventions.

  • Supervise and mentor the (Growth) Marketing team, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring team members meet performance goals.

  • Track marketing performance, user acquisition, and SEO effectiveness, using data to drive continuous improvement.

  • Define and maintain a consistent brand voice across all marketing channels.

What we offer:

  • A small team of experts: you'll manage a 5-person Marketing team and work closely with our 6-person Product team.
  • Working on a large scale: our platform already has 35 million monthly users.
  • A lot of responsibility and freedom. We hire only the best and trust them to deliver excellent results.
  • Flexible working hours and location. The results are what counts!
  • 1 or 2 team weeks per year. We pay for flights and accommodation so you can have fun with the team.
  • The opportunity to play games and claim it's work.

Job requirements

Must-have requirements:

At least 8+ years experience in marketing roles, with:

  • Demonstrated success in a senior marketing role, preferably with a digital consumer product at scale, with a track record of managing a team and scaling marketing efforts.

  • Extensive hands-on experience in Product Marketing, including the ability to develop and implement strategies that effectively understand and engage target audiences.

  • A solid understanding of Growth Marketing strategies, particularly in User Acquisition, SEO, and Digital Marketing, with a focus on managing a team of experts in these topics.

  • Proven creative ability to generate innovative marketing ideas and campaigns that resonate with audiences and enhance brand visibility.

  • Exceptional (English) written and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting compelling marketing materials, press releases, and content.

  • A genuine interest in gaming and digital trends, with a keen understanding of the gaming community and its dynamics to effectively connect with the audience

Reach out if:

  • You like to get things done and don’t mind getting your hands dirty yourself
  • You are independent and self-motivated
  • You are analytical, intelligent, efficient, and organized. You enjoy data and reporting.
  • You have high attention to detail
  • You like open, efficient, and to-the-point communication and you have experience in working remotely
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy managing multiple projects

Please note that we're looking for candidates in Europe, the UK, or the US East Coast in order to have enough time overlap with Europe (where most of our team is).
