Job Description

The Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations including procurement, payments, reconciliations, and reporting. The role involves reviewing purchase requests, ensuring accurate budget allocation, and communicating with stakeholders. The officer will also handle payment processing, balance sheet reconciliations, and support the statutory audit process. The candidate will also be responsible for improving processes and controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping or financial roles
  • Proficient in accounting software, e.g. QuickBooks.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and policies.

Position Overview:
We're looking for a sharp and organised Finance Officer to support our day-to-day financial operations - from procurement and payments to reconciliations and reporting. You'll work closely with internal teams, help improve processes, and ensure accuracy across the board. If you're detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!


Responsibilities:

  • Taking care of the day-to-day procurement duties and other office functions.

  • Reviewing purchase requests, checking details and converting to purchase orders.

  • Ensuring that the allocation of budget and GL code is accurate.

  • Performing cost and scenario analysis, benchmark and estimate risks, and applying risk minimizing techniques

  • Communicating with internal stakeholders on various matters, mainly on how to create and allocate costs in the PR/PO.

  • Supporting internal stakeholders with the reviewing of contacts and assisting in negotiating terms, but not be limited to, SLA’s, payment terms, product prices, volume discounts, and delivery requirements.

  • In charge of payment run/s processing and any ad hoc payments as required in both the accounting software (including allocations) and banking portal/s.

  • Responsible for Balance Sheet reconciliations and clearing of outstanding items.

  • Supporting the statutory audit process.

  • Proactively seeking opportunities to improve processes, controls and documentation.

  • Assisting with any other tasks as may be required.



Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification of a high school diploma or equivalent. An associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field would be considered as an asset.

  • Previous proven experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a similar financial role of at least 1-3 years would be ideal.

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).

  • Financial management skills such as understanding of basic accounting principles and practices and/or familiarity with tax regulations and accounting policies.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing transactions.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers and stakeholders.

  • Ability to identify issues and resolve discrepancies quickly.

  • Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion.

  • Full working proficiency in the English language.
