How we LEAD:

Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) is presently seeking a Manager, Audience Growth in the company's Santa Monica, CA location reporting to the Senior Director, Audience Growth. Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) is the global catalog and special markets division of Universal Music Group. Working closely in concert with UMG’s record labels, territories and operating companies, UMe provides a frontline approach to catalog management, an emphasis on strategic marketing initiatives and creating with new technologies. The foundations of the Audience Growth team include Insights, Community Engagement, Strategy, and Data Collection. Core functions involve supporting the Audience Growth team's marketing efforts in the creation and implementation of digital campaigns to increase fan engagement, developing our owned audiences across platforms, working with external partners to secure their support, and executing innovative digital marketing strategies.

How you'll CREATE:

  • Work closely with the Audience Growth leads to develop innovative digital marketing campaigns and initiatives with the focus on engaging and growing audiences (increasing lean-forward listeners, monthly listeners, subscribers, international consumption growth, etc.)
  • Assist in overseeing campaign execution with a focus on global audience engagement to grow audiences
  • Liaise closely with artists and their representatives to build a foundation of trust
  • Assist the Sr. Director of CRM in the UMe newsletter strategy and artist CRM editorial calendar
  • Be well versed in social trends and strategies, including short form content, social media calendar maintenance and execution, and fan engagement strategies
  • Demonstrate organization and attention to detail in effectively managing and communicating timelines, due dates, and prioritizing tasks
  • Show us your experience with influencer and creator marketing campaigns, the landscape, trends, micro communities, and how to develop campaigns that grow audience and drive streaming consumption
  • Demonstrate an understanding of general digital marketing data points from social media, CRM, and digital advertising and know how to recap these for internal and external stakeholders
  • Innovate and be proactive in bringing progressive digital marketing campaigns and inspiring ideas to the team
  • Be a trusted team member and understand how to collaborate with the broader Audience Growth team and other teams at UMe, including Project Managers, International, Content, Commercial Marketing, Production, A&R, and Publicity

Bring your VIBE:

  • 2-4+ years of experience in marketing, communications, creative agency, or similar fields
  • Experience in global music digital marketing, ideally working across genres
  • Understanding of the technology and marketplace powering today and tomorrow's music industry
  • Knowledge of advertising, CRM, fan engagement, and analytics and curiosity and openness to learn
  • Proven ability to communicate and be a trusted team member
  • Excitement for—and understanding of—new digital trends, memes, and platforms
  • Strong grasp of collaboration and asset management tools
  • An unquenchable thirst for innovation, experimentation, and reinvention and a passion for bringing music to the world in innovative ways
  • Attention to detail for internal and external operations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and operate effectively in a high-pressured environment
  • Absolute discretion necessary to work with sensitive projects and teams
