Process Engineer

• The Process Engineer is responsible to ensure a smooth running system and software development process, method and tool-chain in his projects. He supports PM, R&D PTM and SW PM to identify gaps and inefficiencies. He coaches the projects team on process method and tools topics, or makes sure they get the coaching from respective sources. He takes gaps identified by SYS&SW Q  reviews, customer reviews or other reviews and traks them to closure. He works closely together and is supported by the Process Owners and Key Users in the PL, PG, BG and SMART and CDA PM&T departments.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the project development method, tool-chain and process with the respective departments and teams

  1. Requirements management and exchange with customer

  2. Continuous build, integration and test

  3. Automated test and validation

  4. Agile methods

• Lead Process Improvement Action Plan to reach maturity goals in project

• Coach rest of project team  on process excellence mindset, policy & practices)

• Carry out root cause analysis for Sys/Sw Q claims/issues (collected from all kinds of „assessments“
  and reviews)

• Share best practice and LLC (SMART, GEEDS, PWGs)

• Managing and control reviews in cooperation with SYS&SW Q

  1.SYS&SW reviews

  2.GEDS/RAISE TRs / DRs

  3.SPICE/GAMA assessments (internal and external)

• Manage  tailoring and destandardization requests from project to (T)PL

• Support PM & R&D-PTM & SW PM  to manage priority and process maturity tasks vs. milestone

• Support the rest of the project team for process needs

• Escalation path depending on severity:

  1.skip-level in project to PM

  2.to SYS/SW QA

  3.in his line hierarchy
