Job Description

Gearbox Studio seeks a Development Producer for a 12-month contract to support their new IP. Responsibilities include project planning, task management (Jira), budget tracking, communication across departments, and optimizing collaboration processes. The role demands strong communication skills (French and English), proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Hansoft, Shotgrid), and experience launching significant game titles. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience, at least 3 in project/team management, and possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Must have:
  • 6+ years experience (3+ in project management)
  • Launched at least one major game title
  • Excellent communication (French & English)
  • Proficient in Jira, Hansoft, or Shotgrid
  • Team-oriented & strong interpersonal skills
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Confluence and Perforce

Les Producteurs (trices) Développement supportent les efforts de l’équipe de développement vers l’atteinte des objectifs du projet (temps, qualité, budget). Avec les Chefs de disciplines et experts techniques, ils.elles sont responsables de l’exécution et de la faisabilité.

Dans ce rôle de soutien et de coordination, ils.elles doivent organiser le travail, la collaboration inter-intra disciplines/départements, ainsi que la communication. Une expérience courante/passée dans l’industrie du jeu vidéo est hautement désirable pour ce poste.

RESPONSABILITÉS

  • Participer à l’organisation de la planification des cycles/sprints et voir à ce que les cédules soient créées à travers les disciplines et pour les équipes externes;
  • Supporter les Chefs de disciplines avec l’analyse des requis et le découpage de ceux-ci en étapes et tâches à réaliser.
  • Aider à la création des tâches JIRA, à l’assignation et au changement de statut de celles-ci.
  • Pour ses équipes, responsables de maintenir les cédules à jour, de faire des suivis budgétaires, d’analyser l’effort vs. la capacité, de garder le pouls sur la vélocité, et de faire remonter les bloquants et risques;
  • Organiser des rencontres, des rétrospectives, et des processus de revue d’avancement selon les besoins;
  • Faire circuler l’information entre les départements afin d’assurer visibilité & alignement mais aussi l’identification et le suivi des dépendances;
  • Assurer que les changements de requis soient compris de tous et que les ramifications de ces décisions soient communiquées.
  • Optimiser les méthodes et procédés de collaboration afin d’améliorer l’efficacité des équipes;
  • Veiller à prévenir les problèmes (ou proposer des solutions) et lorsqu’ils apparaissent, aider à gérer et résoudre les situations;
  • Entretenir une culture de développement inspirante, positive et enrichissante et promouvoir un équilibre sain entre le travail et la vie personnelle pour constituer une équipe très engagée.


PROFIL DU CANDIDAT(e):

  • 6+ années d’expérience professionnelle reconnues dont au moins 3 en gestion de projet et/ou d’équipe;
  • Lancement d’au moins 1 titre de jeu d’envergure;
  • Excellentes communications orale et écrite, en français autant qu'en anglais;
  • Maîtrise de programmes de gestion de projet tels Jira, Hansoft, ou Shotgrid ainsi que de la suite MS Office;
  • Connaissance d’outils de documentation, présentations, et Perforce
  • Orienté.e vers l’équipe ce qui signifie que vous avez de l’empathie envers et aimez travailler avec les autres;
  • Capacité à établir des relations solides avec ses collègues et partenaires;
  • Enthousiaste, positif.ive, et capable de motiver les autres;
  • Curiosité, adaptabilité et habileté à s’attaquer à des problèmes complexes;
  • Excellent esprit de leadership et de relations interpersonnelles;

Gearbox Studio, the game developer of successful titles such as Borderlands, Brothers In Arms, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is looking for an experienced Development Producer to join our team for a 12-month contract.

The Development Producer support the team’s development efforts towards delivering the project within stakeholders’ expectations (time, quality, budget). With discipline Leads and other technical experts, they are responsible for the project’s execution and feasibility. In this support and coordination role, they must organize work, inter-intra discipline/departmental collaboration, and communication.A current/previous experience in the vide game industry is highly desirable for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in cycles/sprints project planning and ensure schedules are created across development disciplines and for external teams;
  • Facilitate Leads reviewing and translating requirements into actionable steps and tasks;
  • Assist JIRA tasks creation, task assignment, and status updates;
  • In area(s) of oversight, responsible for maintaining schedules, tracking budget, monitoring scope vs. capacity, keeping an eye on velocity, and escalating blockers & risks;
  • Facilitate meetings, retrospectives, and review processes as needed;
  • Maintain high information flow to ensure cross-department visibility & alignment but also to identify and track dependencies;
  • Ensure that requirements changes are understood and that the ramifications of those decisions are clearly communicated;
  • Optimize collaboration processes and pipelines to increase the team’s efficiency;
  • Prevent problems from happening (or suggest solutions) and when they do, help troubleshoot and resolve issues by getting to the bottom of things;
  • Help with celebrations, new employee integration, and team welfare;
  • Cultivate an inspiring, positive, and rewarding development culture and promote a healthy work/life balance to build a highly engaged team.


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience with at least 3 in a project and/or team management role;
  • Launched at least 1 significant game title;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both French and English;
  • Proficiency in project management solutions such as Jira, Hansoft, or Shotgrid as well as MS Office suite;
  • Knowledge of Confluence, and Perforce;
  • Team-oriented which means you care for and work well with others;
  • Capacity to build strong relationships with colleagues and partners;
  • Enthusiastic and positive person who can motivate others
  • Curiosity, adaptability and ability to tackle complex problems;
  • Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills
