Job Description

The Production Lead will be responsible for developing and executing the overall production strategy for the company's large-scale multiplayer games. This includes leading a team of producers and project managers, collaborating with various departments, creating project plans, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. The role involves managing risks, fostering collaboration, and continuously improving production processes. The Production Lead will also coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of game assets and oversee QA plans.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the overall production strategy for the company's portfolio of large-scale multiplayer games.
  • Lead and manage a team of producers, project managers, and coordinators, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including game design, art, programming, and product management, to ensure that production aligns with the project goals and business objectives.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Implement and enforce production processes, methodologies, and best practices to optimize development efficiency and ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Manage risks and contingencies, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues and roadblocks.
  • Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration, transparency, and open communication within the production team and across the organization.
  • Continuously improve production processes and workflows through feedback, retrospectives, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, such as outsourcing vendors, to ensure the timely delivery of all game assets, including 3D models, animations, textures, and levels.
  • Manage the development and integration of game systems, such as networking, matchmaking, and server architecture, to support large-scale multiplayer experiences.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of quality assurance (QA) plans, including playtesting, bug tracking, and performance optimization.

Skill sets:
  • Strong understanding of game production methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall, and project management tools, such as Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale game development projects, including 3D multiplayer games, from concept to launch.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management abilities.
  • Ability to balance creative vision, business objectives, and technical constraints when making production decisions.
  • Knowledge of game development pipelines, tools, and technologies, such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or version control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with game monetization strategies, live operations, and player retention techniques.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and agile development environment.
  • Experience in managing relationships with external partners, such as outsourcing vendors and platform holders.
