As a QA Analyst, you will be responsible for testing current and future games, collaborating with developers, designers, and the QA team to ensure the highest quality. You will execute various tests, identify and document bugs, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Additionally, you'll contribute to test plans and advocate for a positive player experience throughout development. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment and requires a passion for games.
Must have:
  • 2+ years of QA experience in games or software.
  • Understanding of QA methodologies and defect lifecycle.
  • Experience with issue tracking and test management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

QA Analyst

Description

As our new QA Analyst here at Build A Rocket Boy, you will use your QA knowledge and experience to test our current and future games. 
You will join a large and established team on site in our Edinburgh office, working closely with game developers, designers, artists, production teams, and of course our QA department to ensure our games are of the best quality. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with developers, designers, and other QA team members to test game features from concept to release.
  • Execute functional, exploratory, and regression testing to validate gameplay systems, tools, and content.
  • Identify, isolate, and clearly document bugs with actionable reproduction steps and accurate impact assessment.
  • Communicate risks and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the creation, review, and maintenance of test plans and test cases.
  • Champion the player experience by advocating for quality at every stage of development.


Requirements

  •  2+ years of experience in a QA role within games or software development.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test cycles, and defect lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) and test case management systems (e.g., TestRail).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and collaborative.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
  • Passion for games and a strong interest in quality from the player's perspective.
