Job Summary
Job Description
Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the Chrome OS and Android teams. Responsibilities include writing and testing code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, and resolving product/system issues. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, 5+ years of software development experience (including C++), and 3+ years of experience in software testing, maintenance, or launching products. Experience with accessible technologies is a plus. This role involves working on critical projects, offering opportunities for team and project changes within Google's fast-paced environment. The engineer will contribute to empowering users with fast, secure, simple, and intelligent computing through Chrome OS.
Must have:
- 5+ years software development experience
- 3+ years testing/maintaining software
- Proficiency in C++
- Strong data structures & algorithms skills
- Code writing & testing
- Design & code reviews
Good to have:
- Master's/PhD in CS
- Experience with accessible technologies

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- 2 years of experience with C++.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.

- Write and test product and system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
