Job Description

As the Social Media and Community Manager, you will lead the brand's voice across platforms, shaping how they engage with their audience. This involves crafting social strategies, managing daily execution, and fostering relationships with players and fans on various platforms like Discord, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. You'll work with internal and external partners to create engaging content and support game campaigns. The ideal candidate understands the gaming space, possesses a strong editorial sense, and is passionate about connecting players to meaningful games. This position requires a clear understanding of online communities and the ability to move between strategy and execution.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of social media and community management experience.
  • Familiarity with social platforms and community tools (Discord).
  • Comfortable being a public-facing voice and responding to communities.
  • Skilled in writing and editing for various formats and audiences.
  • Experience with image and video editing tools (Photoshop, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changes.
  • A collaborative and empathetic approach to teamwork.
Good to have:
  • Experience supporting multiple game launches/campaigns.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and reporting KPIs.
  • Prior experience working with game developers or publishers.
  • Understanding of platform-native content creation trends.
  • A strong point of view on community sustainability.

As the Social Media and Community Manager at Annapurna Interactive, you will lead the voice and presence of the brand across platforms, helping define and evolve how we engage with our audience. This role involves crafting social strategies, managing day-to-day execution, and fostering meaningful relationships with players and fans across a wide range of communities, including Discord, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and beyond.You’ll collaborate closely with our internal team and external development partners to create compelling content, support ongoing game campaigns, and bring warmth, personality, and care to the way we interact online. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the gaming space, a strong editorial sense, and a passion for connecting players to games that have meaning.This position requires fluency in internet culture, a clear grasp of what makes online communities thrive, and the ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution.

Responsibilities
• Define and implement social media and community strategies that reflect the voice and values of Annapurna Interactive and its games.

• Represent Annapurna Interactive in public channels, participating in conversations with players and creators in an authentic and informed way.

• Manage official social channels across platforms, overseeing planning, scheduling, posting, and real-time engagement.

• Build and nurture community spaces, including Discord servers, ensuring they are healthy, inclusive, and aligned with brand and project goals.

• Develop creative, platform-native content (written, video, visual) that drives engagement and shares the stories behind our games.

• Collaborate with developers to bring their voices into the community and support their creative visions with thoughtful online presence.

• Monitor and report on sentiment, trends, and feedback, offering insights to internal teams and helping shape communication and support strategies.

• Partner with marketing, communications, and production teams to align messaging and campaign beats across multiple projects.

• Work with external partners and agencies as needed on community initiatives and social amplification efforts.

• Stay current with platform updates, community trends, and best practices to continually refine and evolve our approach.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in social media and community management, with a proven track record of growing and engaging audiences in the gaming or entertainment space.

• Familiarity with major social platforms and community tools, including Discord, and a clear perspective on how to use each effectively.

• Comfortable being a public-facing voice and responding to communities in real time with professionalism, care, and clarity.

• Skilled in writing and editing for different tones, formats, and audiences, with a strong editorial sensibility.

• Experience with lightweight image and video editing tools (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere, Canva, CapCut).

• Ability to manage multiple projects at once and adapt quickly to changing needs and timelines.

• A collaborative and empathetic approach to working across teams and with creative partners.

• Passion for indie games, storytelling, and building communities around shared experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple game launches or campaigns at once.

• Familiarity with analytics tools and reporting on social/community KPIs.

• Prior experience working directly with game developers or publishing teams.

• Understanding of platform-native content creation trends (e.g., memes, TikToks, etc.).

• A strong point of view on what makes communities sustainable, healthy, positive, and fun to be a part of.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000
