As a Production Coordinator Intern, you will assist the production team in a 3D animated project. Your responsibilities include organizing schedules, tracking assets, facilitating daily check-ins, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. You'll be involved in all stages of the 3D animation pipeline, from rigging and layout to lighting and compositing. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, supporting producers, coordinators, and artists to ensure project milestones are met. You will also assist with updating and managing production tracking tools.

We are arx anima, an animation studio based in Vienna, Frankfurt, Leipzig & Madrid and have been producing animation cinema productions for years. We also have the courage to try every new technical challenge and innovation. 

Be it pioneering in lighting with Houdini Solaris / USD workflows, the realisation of a high-end MoCap studio, or the construction of the largest render farm in Austria. And besides all the R&D, features, and series we love to work on creatively animated commercials and other service work. For example, we just revived Mozart through an immersive 360° art projection about Vienna in his era.

Position Overview:

As a Production Coordinator Intern, you will play a key support role in the production pipeline of a 3D animated project. Working closely with producers, coordinators, and artists, you will help ensure that tasks are tracked, schedules are maintained, and cross-departmental communication runs smoothly. This internship offers hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of 3D animation and is ideal for organized, proactive individuals passionate about storytelling and visual development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production team in organizing and maintaining schedules, shot lists, and asset tracking specific to 3D animation workflows (rigging, layout, look dev, FX, lighting, rendering, and compositing).

  • Track the progress of 3D assets and shots, ensuring milestones are met across departments.

  • Facilitate daily check-ins, reviews, and dailies, taking detailed notes and distributing summaries to relevant team members.

  • Maintain clear lines of communication between departments such as layout, animation, lighting, and compositing.

  • Assist with updating and managing production tracking tools (ShotGrid/Flow).

  • Help anticipate and flag potential production bottlenecks or delays.

  • Provide general administrative support to the production team as needed.


    Qualifications:


  • Familiarity with 3D animation pipelines and basic understanding of key stages such as layout, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; detail-oriented with excellent time management.

  • Knowledge of ShotGrid or other production management tools is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A collaborative attitude and willingness to take initiative.
