Specializing in ESIA studies, site investigations, and laboratory research, the company offers vital site supervision owners and lenders engineering services. Notably, Assystem in Türkiye plays a pivotal role in major projects like power generation, and the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant.

Job Description

The position involves engaging in diverse environmental and social initiatives, necessitating collaboration with clients, contractors, and fellow consultants to assist project managers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting environmental & social impact assessments (ESIA).
  • Performing social due diligence.
  • Managing labor aspects.
  • Engaging with stakeholders.
  • Overseeing resettlement planning and auditing.
  • Ensuring community health and safety.
  • Addressing gender and human rights considerations.

The role also entails on-site visits, participation in negotiation meetings, and monitoring visits, among other tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant professional experience as a sociologist, focusing on conducting public hearings with multidisciplinary participants.
  • 5 years' experience in implementing Social Impact Assessments (SIAs), Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEPs), Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRPs), and Grievance Redress Mechanisms (GRMs).
  • Familiarity with WB, IFC, EBRD, and other lender safeguards in project social impact and resettlement processes.
  • Ability to undertake site trips as required.
  • 5 years of specific experience in Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and LRP monitoring and reporting, especially following IFIs’ standards like EBRD, AIIB, and WB.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Turkish.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable about international environmental and social standards such as The World Bank ESSs, IFC PSs, etc.
  • Proficient in using SPSS.
