We are looking to hire an individual to provide operational sanction assessment advice to the Maersk Compliance and commercial teams for business continuity and supporting the Maersk Compliance Programme.

Key responsibilities -
 

  • Actively engage and assist the Maersk Compliance t and all applicable stakeholders with the daily sanctions & export screening of parties, commodities the analysis, and the approval thereof., for Maersk.
  • Actively engage and assist the Maersk Compliance and all applicable stakeholders with daily sanctions, and export control when applicable, and screening of commodities/cargoes to determine whether the commodity is restricted or permitted (e.g. arms, military items, dual-use items, seafood, illegal wildlife, and timber)
  • Actively engage and assist applicable stakeholders on an ad hoc basis with sanctions and export control screening of parties and commodities/cargoes.
  • Manage, monitor, and comply with country-specific approval processes for engaging with highly sanctioned countries and high-risk countries.
  • Manage and execute the documentation process for the screening of parties and commodities/cargoes
  • Maintain detailed documentation of approvals and rejections of parties, commodities/cargoes and shipments/requests
  • Manage and identify areas of high risk and work with Maersk Compliance and the Head of Sanctions & Export Controls to mitigate the identified risks.
  • Support risk assessments, performance, testing, and reporting.
  • Perform and support investigations on sanction trade controls and export control allegations.
  • Support internal control implementation and effectiveness matters for the Maersk Compliance program.


Required Experience & Skills-
 

  • 5 years’ experience within trade compliance-related functions and/or within ‘Know Your Customer’ due diligence.
  • Understanding the shipping industry will be an advantage
  • Excellent intercultural, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
  • Experience in conducting due diligence and screening
  • Experience in supporting and implementing internal control frameworks.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and e-mail applications.
  • Must be motivated and detail oriented.
