The Assistant General Manager is based in the Los Angeles area and will be
responsible for the support of the General Manager and the Flagship Hollywood Funko
brand retail store. This role will lead the entire Hollywood store team to deliver
exceptional results while providing the highest standard of customer service and “retailtainment” under the supervision of the General Manager. The AGM will assist in
maintaining optimal staffing levels, coordinate HR operations, new hire administration
and training, while sustaining compliance with policies and procedures.
 
  • Skilled in retail business financials (e.g. payroll, profit and loss) and driving sales growth
  • Facilitates the alignment and improvement of HR policies, processes and programs in store
  • Provide guidance in the areas of leadership and team development, organization and associate effectiveness
  • Handle employee relations issues for store, escalating complex or unique employee relations issues to HQ HR team
  • Manage the coordination of all new hire, process and system implementation training
  • Skilled in retail business financials (e.g. payroll, profit and loss) and driving sales growth
  • Own and implement exempt and hourly schedules that align to guest and businessneeds (including weekends, mornings, evenings, overnight, and appropriate seasonal adjustments)
  • Supports all stores systems with cross-functional partners to drive efficiency and grow sales
  • Impact the business and maximize store profitability by assisting in controlling expenses, protecting company assets, and by ensuring that store standards and processes for operations are consistent and well executed.
  • Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing Guests with memorable experiences
  • Adept in writing weekly schedules for teams of 30 or more employees
  • Assists in recruiting, training, scheduling and continued education of employees
  • Skillfully recruits, interviews and processes employees into company profiles.
  • Familiar with employee orientation need such as processing State and Federal Tax documents.
  • Drive and maximize sales performance to consistently achieve the overall sales budget objectives while ensuring operational integrity and monitoring monthly profitably
  • Evaluates store in the following key areas - management of team, merchandise, KPIs, FOH/BOH standards, processes, staff proficiency and business strategy
  • Strengthens others through consistent coaching and feedback while driving productivity and morale of the team
  • Manages time, projects, processes and resources to produce desired outcomes
  • As a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes
  • Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance. Lead and hold the team accountable to work in the same way. Cultivate a guest-centric and engaged team

Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry

  • 2+ years’ strategic retail leadership experience, preferably in a Flagship or large volume location.
  • Polished professional who understands how to tell a brand story
  • Experience managing a large team of hourly team members and leaders as well as leaders of leaders
  • Skills in recruiting, selecting, talent management and talent planning across all departments of the store
  • Manage conflict and lead and hold others accountable
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple teams - Executives, Creative, Loss Prevention, Merchandising, etc.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills
  • Strategic and focused on the end results
  • Decisive and collaborates with a team to develop strategies
  • Has a good understanding of Pop Culture and follows Pop Culture trends
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Consistently demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the brand
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and regular attendance necessary
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and bend. May lift/move up to 30 pounds occasionally
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position is $67,725 - 72,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
