Job Description

As SVP of Sales at Funko, you'll lead the North American and Canadian sales teams, developing and executing sales strategies for wholesale and specialty retail. Responsibilities include overseeing sales growth targets, annual sales planning, forecasting, and new product launches. You'll manage a high-performing team, optimizing customer relationships, and collaborating with marketing and branding to ensure consistent messaging. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience in the CPG industry, preferably in fashion or toys. Success will be measured by achieving sales and profit goals, expanding into new channels, and building strong relationships with retailers and internal teams. This role involves extensive collaboration across departments to optimize sales performance and supply chain management. Strategic pricing and driving omnichannel opportunities are key aspects of this role.

Description

As the Senior Vice President of Sales at Funko, you’ll be the master of all things sales, the architect of our go-to-market strategy, and the wizard behind our magical revenue growth. You’ll lead a passionate team of sales superheroes, developing innovative ways to bring Funko’s iconic products to fans across North America and Canada. Your mission will also include creating and executing dynamic strategies for both wholesale and boutique retail accounts, ensuring Funko is front and center wherever collectors and fans are shopping.
 
 
What You’ll Do
 
  • Oversee the sales strategy and growth targets for wholesale and specialty sales channels within U.S. and Canada.
  • Lead and execute annual sales planning, promotional planning and execution, and data-driven forecasting, to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Manage and ensure forecast accuracy for current and new products and successfully execute new product launches.
  • Achieve sales and profit goals by leading a high performing sales team and optimizing customer relationships to build brand equity and market share.
  • Develop Channel and Customer growth strategies that strengthen our brand and aid in expansion into additional channels and across our category.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Branding to ensure a clear, consistent message to customers.
  • Key influencer into annual, quarterly & monthly forecasting grounding knowledge of Category, Customer, Competition & Brand. This includes partaking in all cross functional supply and demand planning routines to ensure we balance supply and demand shifts to maximize business results across markets and channels.
  • Defines retail sales growth initiatives, develops, sells in, executes and activates key domestic retail strategies that align with the company’s strategic marketing, sales, and brand initiatives.
  • Partners with internal and external partners (licensees, retailers, agencies) marketing and PR departments to ensure high awareness and consumer activation of retail programs.
  • Delivers best in class and innovative experiences to stimulate retailer buy in and sales; leverages the broader organization where appropriate.
  • Responsible for annual financial targets; quarterly reporting, forecasting and gap analysis
  • Identifies and drives omnichannel opportunities across all lines of business.
  • Builds and drives development of account plan, annual long-range plan, retail strategies and revenue goals.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales directors and their teams in achieving sustained sales growth, implementing sales strategies and tactics to meet annual revenue and margin growth goals and drive success. 
  • Analyze sell-out data, strategize through a POS/sell-out lens.
  • Direct and support improved processes throughout the sales organization and adjacent departments 
  • Have an Open-minded approach to Business Development
  • Collaborate closely with the SVP of International Sales and global teams to form a synchronized approach to Sales and the associated activities  
  • Collaborate closely with Planning teams to maximize revenue and minimize risk. 
  • Analyze and recommend appropriate pricing strategies and lead the sales team in communicating pricing updates to customers.
 
What You’ll Bring
 
  • 15+ years of proven success in building, training and developing a successful team of sales leaders in the CPG industry (Fashion or Toys preferred) 
  • Proven experience with growth and scaling a successful CPG brand 
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field. 
  • Ability to manage external vendors, articulating program goals, while trouble shooting problems and conflict resolution 
  • Ability to work through ambiguous situations, taking ownership of business results, gathering and analyzing information, developing alternative solutions, and working effectively across department to solve problems 
  • Project-oriented, entrepreneurial, pro-active, creative and self-motivated work style 
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects amid changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while consistently delivering superior results within given deadlines  
  • Strong ability to identify business issues, formulate plans to resolve these issues, and effectively communicate the results to senior management 
  • Strong written, presentation, creative, strategic thinking, analytical, and relationship management skills 
  • Experience building programs with retailers, managing product flow, forecasting future and current business 
  • Ability to exert personal influence, build relationships, and collaborate effectively with functional teams and other key internal / external stakeholders 
  • Strong leader that can inspire and motivate high performing teams to deliver strong results
