Position at DNEG
The Creature Supervisor will oversee the development of all manner of CG creatures from design and build stage to final render. All through the process you will be supervising the pipeline and providing direction on architecture and methods, working with the Head of Creature and the Pipeline team to improve departmental efficiency.
You will be communicating with the other departments, while ensuring effective collaboration between your Creature TDs and related teams within the pipeline. A key facet of your role will be leading and mentoring your team through technical and creative challenges, to ensure only the best quality results are delivered by your. You will lead by example in implementing key challenging work yourself, and with on-the-spot guidance, as well as through planned training schemes implemented by you with our in-house trainers
Must Have
Proven high-end feature film VFX experience, featuring major creatures/characters on multiple projects
Thorough knowledge of most areas of creature specialisation
Full working knowledge of Maya
Need to be comfortable with the more technical aspects of creature work, and have strong, critical visual and artistic skills
Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical creature heavy post production environment
Strong leadership qualities with proven ability and experience supervising teams
Desirable
- Programming or scripting skills (MEL, Python, VEX)
- Experience with Ziva, Houdini and USD
- Experience creating crowd simulations
