The Current Programming Intern will support the Current Programming department, acting as a liaison and handling communication. The intern will also be involved in tasks related to casting and content presentation. This internship offers a chance to gain experience in television production, particularly game show formats, and work in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork. The internship is from May/June through August 29th and requires working 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in person.

This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.

 

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Game Show Network is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented intern to support the Current Programming department. This person will serve as a department liaison and handle communication with internal Game Show Network divisions and in-house productions, as well as the external production companies and producers for our current programming team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining files and status reports and logging notes while on set for current shows
  • Watching final locked cuts of episodes and coordinating between the network and current shows’ post departments
  • Organizing and participating in the notes process for casting and content presentation while coordinating between the network and current shows’ production departments
  • Actively participating and contributing to production department meetings. This includes game show formatting, run-throughs, and design meetings
  • Coordinating internal and external meetings
  • Supporting the department with general administrative duties when needed, including calendar management, note taking, copying, and filing

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Willingness to work on set during production
  • Reliable transportation for travel to various studio locations as needed
  • Attentiveness to detail and organization
  • Competence in managing projects, situations, and people

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Students majoring in television, production, broadcast journalism, or related fields
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, industry, department, etc.
  • Interest in television production, specifically game show formats

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
