Role Overview:

This role serves as a trusted and impartial adviser between Global and Local teams, ensuring local needs are represented in global programs. You’ll provide strategic guidance and insights for local budget allocations, collaborating closely with local media agencies to tailor global media strategies to meet local objectives. Working within the Global Media team, but embedded within the local team, the position involves providing technical insight into media plans, ensuring timely inputs for Global Rollups, and facilitating successful local activations. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for managing agency relationships, resource, and performance across your market cluster, while driving efficiency and accountability in media processes.

As a key player in building relationships across territories, you'll promote collaboration and alignment between Local Campaign Management and Global Media Planning teams. The role emphasizes fostering a culture of measurement in media activations to optimize PlayStation campaigns, using data-driven insights to set strategies, improve campaign briefs, and drive marketing performance across PlayStation’s portfolio, including hardware, software, services, and third-party marketing.

What you’ll be doing:

Media (85%Advocate for local nuances and requirements within your market cluster by providing continuous and collaborative feedback on Central Digital Tactical Plans.

  • Effectively collaborate with Local Campaign Management team in embedding a global media strategy into locally relevant tactical media briefs and approaches
  • Develop and maintain a local campaign portfolio view, helping to align media activations, audiences and targeting, channel investment and critical metrics.
  • Champion local visibility of globally handled media activity. Provide feedback relevant to your market cluster to global media strategy and long-lead media planning for flagship campaigns, to drive increased relevance and local opportunity.
  • Lead local media agency relationships – driving team culture, improving offline media and custom digital planning. Oversee improvements and optimizations to reporting deliverables and local briefing and response processes. Coordinate annual auditing, team assessment and resource planning. Handle media agency compensation budgeting.
  • Drive media innovation across campaigns, develop test & learn plans, share, and reapply takeaways across local campaigns that feed into global initiatives.
  • Lead the Media Finance process including overseeing raising of POs and Budget assignments as required.
  • Effectively collaborate with the global media planning and investment team to maximise our media partnerships and joint business plans. Maintain relationships with local media partners and vendors to keep PlayStation at the forefront of the local media marketplace.
  • Be responsible for post campaign analysis results with the local media agency teams
  • Be the local champion for media capabilities. Partner on Responsible Media and Media Council Initiatives to drive greater cohesion between Global and Local Teams.

Analytics & Data (15%)

  • Deliver ongoing market analytics and consumer insights across Brand, Hardware, Peripherals, First- and Third-party Software and Services/D2C activity
  • Support Campaign Management and Communications teams to provide understanding of media campaign impact.
  • Collaborate across market clusters to deliver cohesive analysis for all local activity to deliver actionable findings for future marketing initiatives, advocating for data-informed budgeting and decision making.
  • Maintain a core understanding of local audience segmentation as well as Local player insights and data, utilising Global tools for Local effectiveness.
  • Act as a key conduit between local and global marketing to call out and champion insight needs and secure support and resources. Support local research needs in partnership with global insights teams, media partners and agencies in accordance to existing scope.
  • Ad Hoc: Provide basic insight into Local commercial planning for media related asks– support with consumer insight and platform analytics to enhance forecasting, budgeting, and sales analysis.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Develop and complete tactical media plans that align with established strategies and contribute to achieving marketing objectives.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with a network of stakeholders and partners throughout the campaign planning and execution process, while actively evaluating campaign success and proposing optimizations to plans and processes.
  • Successfully balance global and local objectives and priorities, reaching effective outcomes for key stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

  • Education & Experience: Proven Senior experience in B2C marketing in entertainment or tech, focused on advertising, paid media, and user acquisition.
  • Media Expertise: Strong understanding of UK&I and EMEA media landscapes, with experience leading global or regional media programs and managing media agency teams.
  • Campaign & Analytics Skills: Proven track record in planning and executing large-scale advertising campaigns, handling big budgets, and delivering measurable results. Proficient in digital marketing (programmatic, paid search, social), web analytics tools (Adobe), and Excel.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing various stakeholders, including senior management. Experienced in cross-cultural collaboration across time zones.
  • Data & Insights: Skilled in interpreting data (qualitative and quantitative) to drive decisions and provide actionable insights. Passion for analytics and reporting.
  • Entertainment Marketing Passion: Deep interest in entertainment marketing, video games, and engaging audiences through paid media to achieve brand and business goals.
  • Multitasking & Problem-Solving: Proficient in handling multiple priorities, simplifying complex issues, and supporting teams in planning retailer media budgets. Self-motivated with a passion for results.

 Experience with the following tools is preferred: 

  • Enterprise Analytics Platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics)
  • Media Planning Tools (e.g., Comscore, Global Web Index, YouGov)
  • AdTech & MarTech (e.g.DCO Tools, Salesforce, DoubleVerify, DV360)
