Kubernetes Engineer
Role Description:
This is a DevOps/Platform engineering role for a project assisting a large Canadian bank with a number of activities related to their public cloud platform, including building and implementing new reference architectures for their Kubernetes environments, introducing the use of Istio Service Meshes, enabling new Cloud Services, along with other related activities.
Skills:
Self learner with strong troubleshooting skills
Deep hands-on experience and expertise with Kubernetes
Experience with Google Cloud Anthos / GKE Enterprise
Experience with Istio Service Meshes
Strong expertise and experience with Google Cloud
Experience creating Kubernetes manifest templates (Helm)
Experience writing policy as code
Strong understanding of containers and containerizing applications
Good foundational understanding of networking and load balancers
Good hands-on experience creating infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
Good foundational background with shell scripting and Linux (RHEL)
Good working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
Comfortable using Git version control (GitHub)
Understanding of site reliability engineering and experience creating monitoring dashboards using service level indicators and objectives (Datadog)
Strong technical writing skills (Markdown)
Experience creating technical diagrams (Lucid Chart)
Familiar working using agile methodology (Scrum)
Scripting level ability with Python
Any experience with Wiz or AquaSec would be a bonus
