As a Lead Software Engineer QA, you will contribute to testing and automating the test cases, performance benchmarking the Data security software in a fast-paced Agile environment. This position is perfect for smart technical individuals who enjoy working in file system technologies for Linux OS, niche technologies of Cloud, Containers , Kubernetes, working in a team of talented engineers and being part of end-to-end product delivery cycle.
As a Lead Software Engineer QA with Protegrity’ s talented team you will contribute to manual and automation testing, product/build releases in a fast-paced Agile environment. This position is perfect for strong technical individuals who enjoy working in file system technologies for Linux OS and excited to be part of end-to-end product delivery life cycle.
To qualify, you should have 8+ years of relevant experience in testing and automation of the different File System
(Local, NFS ,CIFS, etc). You should be highly versatile with basics of C programming, Linux command line , Python and Shell scripting. You must be in touch with the latest trends in technology.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to testing, automating the File Protector Product in Python/ Schell script
- Contributes to appropriate software testing methods, standards, tools to achieve well engineered outcome
Ability to work independently by applying testing practices used by the team including usage of automation frameworks, performance benchmarking tools, system monitoring tools, designing the test case for testing new features implemented in the product, product release certification etc.
- Participating in Agile practices of the team as an individual contributor and a team player
- Adaptability to learn and enhance skills in the domain of data security alongside the products technical environment like OS, cloud technology, container orchestration, native programming language of the environment, hardware etc.
- Ability to review work of peer engineers alongside being an individual contributor
- Excellent collaboration abilities within and across teams for technical requirements and product module dependencies
- Ability to be a good team player and soft skilled person
Qualification
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in BE(CS/IT)/MCA
8+ years of engineering experience in software testing
- Proficiency on computer science concepts and programming in basics of C, Python and Shell scripting
- Experience on Linux OS
- Should have knowledge about File system (NFS, CIFS, XFS) and good hands on Linux command line tools.
- Should consistently work on improving the product quality and usability
- Should be able to work independently with minimum support from Team Member
- Should demonstrate innovative ways of testing the Product
- Should focus on memory, cpu, disk, io, etc. parameter while testing the software product
- Should have good understanding of sockets, secured sockets, TCP/IP & other networking protocols
- Familiarity to CI/CD systems and build automation tools. Knowledge of Jenkins preferred.
- Strong at software testing and automating the test case
- Hands on knowledge about source code management tools like GIT
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with good rapport and collaboration with teammates within the team
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of operating systems and concepts. Linux is the preference
- Experience on python programming language
- Knowledge of software performance measurements and tuning
- Has gone through a devOps cycle, CI/CD pipelines and software test automations
- Knowledge of cryptography and cryptographic algorithms
- Knowledge of Agile process for product delivery
- Good to have knowledge of working with containerized system like Docker
- Good to have Knowledge of Public Cloud technologies like AWS/GCP/Azure

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend on-site meetings only occasionally based on business needs. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
