Job Details

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with 283 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

We recently launched a new ad-supported tier to offer our members more choice in how they consume their content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price point while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach deeply immersed audiences.

Our Team
The Ads Data Science and Engineering team at Netflix’s mission is to help build the foundation of the ads business at Netflix. We conduct analyses and develop analytic tools, build predictive models and algorithms using machine learning, all with the goal of creating more choices and joy for our members. As a leader in the forecasting space, you’ll work closely with partner teams in Finance, Sales, and Engineering to give visibility and insights into our future supply and demand.  This team enables revenue modeling, pricing and packaging of our inventory, ad sales and ad serving.   In addition to modeling the team is responsible for  monitoring and alerting, providing visibility/explainability, and proactively identifying insights and opportunities.

As the leader of this space you will need to build out a comprehensive vision for meeting our stakeholder needs, proactively identifying areas for improvement and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, inspire, and grow high-performing data scientists and analytics engineers.

  • Lead strong partnerships with stakeholders from across the business - from product management, engineering, content, finance, and strategy.

  • Instill an inclusive culture that is innovative and collaborative, both within your team and in the broader organization.

  • Develop a team charter and roadmap that optimizes the impact of the team and reflects evolving business needs.

  • Act as an ambassador between the Product, Engineering, Strategy, and DSE teams by having a deep knowledge of how the Netflix Ads product works.

  • Ensure that your team is producing consistently trustworthy and high-quality technical outputs that influence the business.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated tenacity, resilience, and leadership experience that enables you to organize and drive cross-functional projects, overcome challenges, and propose solutions.

  • Be both quantitative and qualitative. You should be able to quickly assess and understand complex systems, but you should also have a high EQ so that you can be a product ambassador to the rest of the advertising organization.

  • You are a player-coach. You can develop roadmaps and strategy, but also execute on technical work and ensure that your team produces consistent high quality outputs.

  • Superb communication skills - You must be able to cultivate strong working relationships, communicate effectively, write meticulously, and give outstanding presentations to both technical and creative audiences.

  • Experience building and leading hybrid Data Science and Analytics teams in the Ads space.

  • Capacity and passion to translate business objectives into actionable analyses, and analytic results into business and product recommendations.
