Job Description

Infoblox seeks a Manager, Software Engineering specializing in Golang to lead a team in Bangalore. Responsibilities encompass technical direction, software solution design and implementation, collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and managing all phases of software development. The role requires experience with microservices, containers (Kubernetes, Docker), AWS, and agile methodologies. The successful candidate will drive timely delivery of high-quality software, manage customer issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards. This is a technical, hands-on management position involving feature development, defect resolution, and release management.

Must have:

15+ years software development experience
2+ years managing software teams
Golang programming experience
Microservices architecture expertise
Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) knowledge
Agile development experience

Good to have:

AWS experience (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation)
DNS protocol and networking knowledge
DNS, DHCP experience
Master's degree in CS, CE, or EE

We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our Engineering team in Bangalore, reporting to the senior manager of Software Engineering. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers and work closely with the rest of the engineering organization to build the SaaS platform. In this technical, front-line management position, you will simultaneously manage various ongoing efforts, including feature development, defect analysis, resolution, and software release management. You will work on cutting-edge technology of Containers and GoLang with a highly collaborative team that will help you learn and grow in your knowledge of SaaS platforms.

You’re the ideal candidate if you are a technically driven manager who has experience working with large, distributed teams, and driving solutions and deliveries on schedule and with quality.

What you’ll do:

Provide technical direction to engineers, which are comprised of developers and leads
Design and implement timely, high-quality software solutions to customer issues for Infoblox core products
Work on features from concept to release through all phases of development, including functional, design specifications, implementation, unit, performance, and scalability testing
Work closely with various cross-functional product teams
Mentor and guide junior engineers
Monitor the team's daily tasks and track and deliver key initiatives and projects
Manage all aspects of software development, including requirement gathering, design, development, and testing of software
Manage customer issues, escalations, and tracking customer SLAs closely
Ensure the team complies with quality standards
Coordinate and communicate with clients and internal stakeholders
Stay current on key trends, especially in technologies and frameworks like Containers, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Cloud, etc.

What you’ll bring:

15+ years of experience in software development with at least 2+ years of managing the software development team
Experience in microservices architecture and container-based software using Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies is a huge plus
Experience with programming languages such as Golang.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc.) is a plus
Knowledge of DNS protocol and general networking concepts
Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
Experience working on an agile development process
Full software development life-cycle experience with a proven track record of shipping software
Results-oriented with a solid work ethic and excellent attention to detail and quality
Experience with DNS, DHCP is a strong plus
Bachelor’s degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in CS, CE, or EE
