Job Description

The Mid Lighting and Compositing Artist role involves working as part of a team to create high-quality content for audiences. The artist's primary responsibilities include managing shots and deadlines, ensuring work communicates clearly, and acting on feedback from Directors. The successful candidate will be based in the UK and required to work in the London studio at least two days a week, following a hybrid working model. The role requires collaboration within a team, sharing technical and artistic skills, and delivering the best work possible to meet the directors and client requirements. Must have:
  • Animation production experience
  • Knowledge of atmospheric lighting and denoising
  • Knowledge of Nuke to composite render layers
  • Positive attitude and sharing knowledge
  • Ability to receive and respond to direction
  • Enjoy team work and great collaborator
  • Ability to work independently and reliable
  • Creative problem solving skills

Job Details

We are on the lookout for a talented and super keen Mid Lighting and Compositing artist for one of our shows.
 
Our L&C artists are masters of mood, light and detail. Their day-to-day focuses on tailored render layers, artful colour grading and production deadlines, whilst meeting that all important brief from our Directors and Clients. They are also great collaborators, working as a team to share and develop their technical and artistic skills to deliver high quality content for our audiences.
 
The successful candidate will need to be based in the UK as they will be required to come into our London studio at least 2 days a week, in a hybrid working model. Currently, we're unable to consider VISA sponsorship.

Day to Day:
  • Working as part of a team of lighting and compositing artists, and regularly communicating between your Team Lead and Director
  • Managing your shots and your time efficiently to meet those deadlines!
  • Making sure your work is communicating clearly from blocking through to the final animation
  • Acting on notes and feedback from your Directors
About You
  • Animation production experience
  • Knowledge of atmospheric lighting, colour grading and denoising render
  • Knowledge of Nuke as a tool to composite render layers 
  • Positive attitude and be happy to share knowledge and skills with other team members 
  • Ability to receive feedback and respond well to direction
  • Enjoy being a team player and great collaborator
  • Ability to work independently and be reliable
  • Creative problem solving skills 
Bonus Points:
  • Knowledge of Python scripting
