Role x You:

We are looking for a creative team to play a key role in delivering disruptive, award-winning culture-driven creative ideas.

As a copywriter working with your art director, you will bring strong concepting and storytelling skills to the table. You will be a team looking for a place in a creative department that is different to any of your traditional agency worlds. At VIRTUE we believe radical thinking disrupts culture and we create work that uses innovative, new ways to meet communities in their world. And that’s exactly what we’re after. Bold, impactful and fresh thinking that identifies an authentic, exciting space that a brand can play in culture. Someone who has genius ideas and the passion and knowledge to turn them into concepts, get them sold and make them a reality.

In the short term…

You would be expected to tackle every brief with smart, creative thinking. Take risks in the process, but always ladder back up to the strategic and cultural POV. Craft copy as required, build a rapport within the team and work towards understanding the nuances of the brands on our roster.  Be a pro-active thinker, constantly on the lookout for ways brands (existing or prospective) could shake things up with a simple idea.

After 6 months in this role…

You would be conversant with client expectations on our roster of brands, be able to take initiative and lead on certain smaller projects and be able to contribute usefully to ideation requirements. Be agile, understand the need to pivot and know how to offer alternate solutions when needed. Continue to seek out exciting moments in culture for brands and collaborate with all members of the team to deliver award-winning work.

Responsibilities:

  • Ideation, development and implementation of culturally-relevant creative concepts across all media channels. And beat us to identifying new playgrounds to explore.

  • Develop creative concepts and 360° campaigns in collaboration with the Creative Leads to ensuring high quality, on-brief and impactful work with storytelling at its core

  • Stay current on cultural and societal trends and digital tech / platforms

  • Create headlines, short and long copy, claims, campaign manifestos, film treatments and scripts

  • Help build presentation structure and narrative

  • Ensure content is innovative, on-brand and consistent with VIRTUE’s values

  • Self motivated, taking on pitches and projects and own your work from start to finish

  • Collaborate with Strategy, Project Management, Client Services and Production throughout the entirety of every project

  • Manage and work – sometimes independently and under tight deadlines – while juggling multiple projects

You have these:

  • Smart, bold, creative thinking and a “culture-nerd” mentality

  • Desire to create successful, culturally relevant, award-winning creative

  • At least 3-4 years’ experience as a Creative/Copywriter in an advertising agency or start-up

  • Ability to write, communicate and present

  • A flawless command of spelling, punctuation, and grammar

  • Passion, positivity and drive

  • Appreciate a borderless and diverse collaboration across the Globe

  • A forward-thinking and socially-conscious perspective

  • Ability to work both independently or with a team

  • Experience balancing several projects at once with tight deadlines

  • Deep knowledge and interest in tech, digital media, social media and content

  • Proficiency in Google suite, including Google Slides and Keynote

  • Strong portfolio showing a range of styles and relevant experience

We’d love if you also have these:

  • As a global agency, additional language skills are a bonus
