The Principal Engineer will set the technical direction and design for software projects, focusing on customer and ecosystem needs. They will evaluate technology readiness, design end-to-end solutions, and make key decisions about software structure, frameworks, and algorithms. The role involves interacting with technologists, developers, and customers to identify requirements and set engineering direction. The Principal Engineer will mentor other technical leaders and drive technical strategy. The engineer will be responsible for performance profiling and debugging tools. They will be the domain expert who influences and drives technical direction across Intel and industry. They will be working on graphics applications.
Must have:
  • Expert in C/C++ programming.
  • Expert in programming Data Parallel C++.
  • Expert with performance profiling and debugging tools for graphics applications.
  • Strong understanding of CPU, GPU architecture.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux.
  • Excellent verbal and written English.
Good to have:
  • Experience in Rendering / Raytracing Domain.
  • Experience in GPGPU programming APIs like CUDA or OpenCL.
  • Experience with Graphics APIs such as DirectX or Metal.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with Intel software tools.
  • Experience in managing customer relationships.
  • Experience in software testing, benchmarking, analyzing, and optimizing.

Job Description: 

Responsible for setting the technical direction and architectural design of a customer, ecosystem software vendor, and/or open source community software project. Evaluates ecosystem technology readiness and designs endtoend solutions architectures to customer/ecosystem problems, including any required changes to HW and SW. Makes highlevel design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Determines coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements. Performs pathfinding and surveys technologies. Interacts with technologists across Intel and within the industry, and with developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements, determine priorities for development, and with customers to communicate IA solutions and identify customer gaps to set engineering direction. As a principal engineer, recognized as a domain expert who influences and drives technical direction across Intel and industry. Develops and mentors other technical leaders, grows the community, acts as a change agent, and role models Intel values. Aligns organizational goals with technical vision, formulates technical strategy to deliver leadership solutions, and demonstrates a track record of relentless execution in bringing products and technologies to market.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:MS degree or equivalent in a scientific or engineering discipline.Expert in programming the latest C/C++.Expert in programming the Data Parallel C++. Expert with performance profiling, debugging tools, and techniques for graphics applications.Advanced understanding of CPU, GPU architecture or another processor, SoC, or DSP architecture is expected.Advanced knowledge of the latest Windows and Linux.Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.Self-motivated and self-sufficient working attitude. Excellent verbal and written English.Additional qualifications:Experience ins Rendering / Raytracing Domain is a strong plus.Experience in other GPGPU programming APIs like CUDA or OpenCL is a strong plus.Experience with other Graphics APIs such as DirectX or Metal are a strong plus.Good communication and presentation skills in front of technical audiences are a strong plus.Experience working with Intel software tools like MKL, TBB, Intel C/C++ Compiler, GPA, VTune, etc. are a plus.Experience in managing customer relationships is a plus.Experience in planning and executing software projects and in software testing, benchmarking, analyzing, and optimizing is an additional plus.Additional languages are a plus.

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
