This Product Manager II role at Microsoft focuses on improving Microsoft Security products for SMB customers. Responsibilities include driving customer acquisition and usage, working with partners (MCAPS Global Partner Solutions) and engineering to mitigate product deployment friction, and continuously improving products based on customer and partner feedback. The role requires collaboration with various Microsoft teams, including product engineering, marketing, field teams, and partners, to identify and resolve blockers, develop initiatives, and drive technical readiness efforts. The successful candidate will create and maintain technical content, facilitate sales and deployment support, and influence product roadmap decisions.

The CxE Customer, Communities + Partner Team (CCP) is looking for a Product Manager II to improve Microsoft Security products by enabling SMB customers to onboard to our services, either by themselves or via the Partners. The Product Manager will drive growth in customer acquisition, retention and adoption, deliver top-notch customer experience, and most importantly drive a data-driven customer/partner/engineering feedback loop to continuously improve our products.

 

In this role, you will work with many Microsoft teams like product engineering, marketing, field, Microsoft Partners, and Customers directly to identify blockers (sales and products), identify technical knowledge gaps, identify market opportunities for upselling and deployment, develop initiatives and playbooks and drive technical readiness efforts to help Partners achieve a Security specialization and Security GTM offer. You will synthesize these into actionable execution plans to assist the field to drive revenue growth, adoption and usage, grow insights and customer evidence that product engineering can use for planning and product development.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in technology and product knowledge within the Microsoft Security stack.
  • Business curiosity, acumen and aptitude to quickly understand product capabilities, technology, technical issues, and customer/partner needs.
  • Proficient in communications at all levels of an organization and across all functions from business to technical, and across multiple geographies.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and experience in building, tracking, and driving mid to large scale programs.
  • Self-driven and the ability to work autonomously and ability to prioritize across multiple projects.

 

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a partner and customer-focused individual with product management, program management expertise, and business acumen. This role has 3 primary areas of responsibility:

  • Help SMB customers realize the value of our products by driving acquisition and usage at scale. As a trusted product advisor, you will enable awareness, acquisition, adoption, and usage of our products by creating repeatable and scalable processes.
  • Work with MCAPS Global Partner Solutions (GPS) and product engineering to identify and mitigate product deployment friction through in-product experiences, automation and other delivery channels.
  • Engage with partners, evangelizing the products and help unblock pre-sales and deployment challenges when they arise.
  • Develop product and business knowledge to create and maintain technical acquisition, deployment and readines content, facilitate sales and deployment blocker resolution and partner escalations to successfully enable customers to use our products.
  • Partner closely with your product engineering peers to understand and continuously evaluate product roadmaps ensuring the partner ecosystem can successfully support our current product releases.
  • Continuously improve our products: Working with your Product Engineering peers, you will use your product knowledge and expertise to influence product vision, strategy, and roadmap. You will do this by learning from customers, partners and our Field teams by collecting product insights and driving those insights into Product Engineering to continuously improve our products. 
  • Incubate new features and products: You will help incubate new and exciting features and products with customers to assess scale feasibility.
