As the Propulsion Shop Supervisor, you will lead the assembly team for electric propulsion motors and subassemblies, crucial for Wisk's generation 6 vehicle. Responsibilities include ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality assembly, driving performance, and supporting employee development. You will help in problem-solving, resource planning, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing workflows. The role requires daily production oversight, adherence to specifications, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Must have:
  • 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree.
  • 5+ years managing small teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to support a production schedule of 6:30 AM- 3:30 PM
  • A strong understanding of mechanical assemblies
  • Basic knowledge of wiring and wire harnesses
  • Hands-on skills with electromechanical systems, tools, instruments, and measurement techniques
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles
  • Understanding of and experience with basic manufacturing quality principles
  • Familiarity with tool control and calibration schedules
  • Familiarity with failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with managing electronic work instructions from manufacturing execution software
  • Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading/interpreting drawings, and fulfilling engineering specifications

We are looking for a supervisor for the propulsion assembly shop team to join the production operation of our Wisk generation 6 vehicle. You will apply principles from high-volume manufacturing to ramp up production and ensure that quality, production schedules, and engineering requirements are met within released specifications and delivered on time per the production schedule. 

Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View office. 

What you will do:

    • As part of the Manufacturing Operations organization, and deployed in Electric Propulsion Assembly, you will act as a Production Supervisor for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market. 
    • You will take part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality assembly of electric propulsion motors and subassemblies, supporting the company’s mission to revolutionize urban air mobility. 
    • You will support a team of assemblers and technicians, driving performance in safety, quality, and productivity. As a people leader, you will focus on employee development, engagement, and performance management to create a high-functioning and motivated team. 
    • You will help support problem-solving activities to improve production efficiency, address quality issues, and implement process enhancements to meet operational targets. 
    • You will help coordinate resource planning, staffing, and training initiatives to ensure the successful execution of the production plan.
    • You will take part in process improvements, collaborating with quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to enhance manufacturing workflows and reduce inefficiencies. 
    • In some areas, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety regulations. 
    • You will plan and execute daily production activities, monitor key shop metrics, and ensure all processes align with released specifications, technical documentation, and safety standards. As a people leader, you will oversee performance reviews, timecard approvals, PTO requests, and procurement activities to support operational needs. 
    • As a Production Supervisor, you will help define best practices for manufacturing operations, ensure consistent adherence to safety and quality standards, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within your team.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $108,512 - $127,662 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
