As a Senior Technical Project Manager at BlackBerry QNX, you will work with global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for planning, resource management, and monitoring project progress against budget and timelines. Your duties will include developing detailed schedules, mitigating risks, arranging work packages, and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. You will also contribute to contract writing and ensure problem resolution throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires effective leadership, communication, and experience with software implementation project management, particularly in an AGILE environment. The role affects millions of users and is essential to the success of QNX.
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent.
- Proven experience in technical program/project management or Software Development experience.
- Technical supervisory experience with people or projects.
- Knowledge of UNIX-based operating systems.
- Project planning and management, decision making, problem solving.
- Software implementation project management experience, planning in AGILE environment.
- Software development experience, ideally in the Embedded and RTOS Market.

Are you the person we are looking for?
You will:
- Work with cross-functional, global teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Plan and ensure optimum use of shared resources, administering and monitoring use against budget.
- Direct the compilation of required data, including budget, time constraints, contracts & technical data.
- Develop detailed schedules for major or complex projects, detailing all activities required for successful completion.
- Be accountable for and mitigating risk factors to ensure successful completion of major or complex projects.
- Arrange the distribution of work packages to the responsible function within the company and/or external contractors ensuring awareness of and commitment to project requirements.
- Write or contribute to the writing of new contracts for external contractors is an asset.
- Monitor progress throughout the project cycle, ensuring cost and time constraints are met and acting to ensure problem resolution, as necessary.
- Interface with software developers, group leaders, contractors and others outside the company to obtain or provide program, technical and progress data.
- Liaise with internal departments including Finance, Marketing and Sales and externally with Engineering Services customers and contractors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in technical program/project management OR proven experience as a Software Developer with extensive experience in C, C++, Java, or other equivalents and with direct customer facing interaction.
- Technical supervisory experience with people or projects.
- Knowledge of UNIX-based operating systems.
- Project planning and management, decision making, problem solving.
- Knowledge of applicable programmatic/technical procedures and specifications; awareness of program contractual processes.
- Effective leadership, innovation, analysis and communications.
- Software implementation project management experience, planning and deployments in an AGILE environment.
- Used to managing multiple concurrent projects with different time frames.
- Software development experience, ideally in the Embedded and RTOS Market.
- Experience managing commercial implementation projects in the Embedded and RTOS Market.
- Any direct experience with QNX.
- Direct experience with implementing a software development organizations’ compliance to 2 of the 8-following quality-related standards:
- ISO 9001
- SEI-CMMI
- IEC 61508
- IEC 62304
- SPICE ISO/IEC 15504
- Common Criteria ISO 15408
- ISO 26262
- 20180325
