Your Mission

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a super-motivated DevOps team whose mission is to leading the transformation of the our gaming platform in the cloud with the principles of modern best practices the latest commercial and open-source technologies and techniques. This also includes being responsible for maintaining our legacy on-prem platforms and contribute

This also involves building automated deployments using configuration management technology, deploying new modules, upgrades and fixes to test and production environments and collaborating with the larger engineering team in day-to-day operations and driving continuous improvements.

You’ll be empowered to improve software, using your technical skillsets, analytical and diagnostic flair to the full to solve every day problems and aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo for new and innovative solutions.

What you'll do

  • Be leading the transformation of the as-is platform in the cloud to the modern industry standard best practices in IaaC, Security and day to day platform engineering and SRE
  • Build, test and deploy cloud-based infrastructure and applications using CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Contribute in maintaining knowledge base of process and technologies
  • Assist with setup/maintenance of environments for both manual and automated testing
  • Assist in production support through the investigation and resolution of incidents
  • Invest in the continuous self-development and learning culture and apply the learnings in day-to-day work.
  • Assist in conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the day-to-day change management
  • Participate in the contingency planning and disaster recovery procedures, including reliable backup and restore procedures

What you'll bring

  • A sound, in-depth knowledge of scalable and sustainable DevOps practices using industry best practices.
  • Working understanding and experience in implementing software development processes, tools, and methods, encompassing code management, CI/CD tools and practices, and testing strategies.
  • Familiar with containerisation (Docker, rkt) and virtualisation (VMWare, Vagrant, VirtualBox) technologies.
  • Strong experience working with Kubernetes clusters and observability tools such as Fluentd, Kibana, Logstash, Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Knowledge in Public and Private clouds and virtualization platforms: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, OpenStack, VMWare.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as a code principle using technology such as Terraform, Ansible
  • A strong and deep level of understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment concepts and tools, including SCMs (Git, Subversion), CI servers (Bamboo, Jenkins, Gitlab), build tools (Maven, Gradle), binary repositories (Nexus, Artifactory) and code quality tools (SonarQube). Experience with the Atlassian stack is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge around platform automation technologies, such as Puppet and Ansible
  • Desirable – Some understanding of database administration, including but not limited to, Cassandra, Neo4j and ElasticSearch as well as the traditional ones (MySQL, Oracle, etc).
  • Equipped with basic programming know-how – including an understanding of code and coding concepts – plus advanced knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby...).
  • Familiar with software development, including concepts, current technologies and frameworks.
  • Linux administration skills and knowledge about network diagnostics and services.
  • Basic knowledge in Windows systems administration and investigation, with expertise that covers Event log and Services.
  • Flexible enough to meet tight deadlines and driven to deliver to strict SLAs
