Summary

As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting Disney Entertainment & ESPN (DE&E) Technology, you'll collaborate with technology and operations teams. Responsibilities include depreciation modeling, planning, and analysis; preparing forecasts; handling monthly/quarterly close processes; collaborating with accounting on variance analysis; developing financial analyses for technology partners and leadership; and contributing to presentations for senior leaders. You will also work on ad-hoc strategic analysis and participate in project teams. The role requires strong financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills, along with experience in CAPEX planning and depreciation calculations. Proficiency in SQL, Excel, SAP, and COGNOS is preferred.

As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting Disney Entertainment & ESPN (DE&E) Technology, you will be collaborating with technology and operations teams, focusing on depreciation modeling, planning and analysis, along with depreciation forecast deliverables to internal consolidation team, and regional finance partner. As we support this dynamic space, our goals include advancing the Finance team into a best-in-class organization that can carry DE&E Technology into the future.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis for DE&E Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Drive collection of CAPEX inputs from operations partners to inform depreciation forecast
  • Manage and update SQL based depreciation model
  • Prepare and analyze complex budgets, plans, financial statements and/or reports, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Handle monthly/quarterly close, including entries, uploads to SAP/COGNOS and variance explanations
  • Collaborate with Accounting on the latest variance analysis and close entries
  • Develop and present financial analysis for technology partners and finance leadership
  • Contribute to presentations for review with senior leaders
  • Work on ad hoc strategic analysis as needed
  • Be part of a project team to enable the next company initiative

Basic Qualifications Please apply if you have:

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Solid knowledge of CAPEX planning and depreciation calculation
  • Solid understanding of balance sheet activities and journal entries
  • Collaborative approach combined with ability to work independently
  • Validated ability to prioritize multiple deliverables in a fast paced environment
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL database and WBSE setup
  • Sophisticated proficiency with Excel, SAP & COGNOS preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $103,400 to $126,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
