Romero Games Ltd is looking for an inspiring and creative Senior Lighting Artist to join our growing team. As our Lighting Artist you will work alongside our creative team to ensure the game looks great and that we utilise every lighting trick in the book (plus some new ones) to enhance the gaming experience for our players. We are looking for an individual with experience, vision, and passion for creating cutting edge games. As part of an independent development studio, you will have a significant impact and contribute on multiple levels to the games we make.
Ideally, you can relocate to join us in Galway, Ireland, but a remote role is also possible for the right candidate in a European timezone. In your cover letter or email, please note your preference (remote/hybrid/onsite in Galway).
Own the lighting of our environments, ensuring our characters, creatures and weapons look their best
Work closely with the Art Director and Lead Artist to develop a consistent visual look throughout the game
Collaborate closely with the Design, Art, Programming and Production teams
At least 5 years of professional experience in the games industry working in lighting
A proven track record of working on a AAA game in a production environment
A portfolio reflecting high-quality game lighting
A full understanding of real-time lighting pipelines, including areas such as tone mapping and post-processing
A good understanding of the contribution of lighting to both gameplay and scene composition
A desire to learn new techniques and technologies
Experience lighting in Unreal Engine
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience with UE5’s Lumen system
