Job Description

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Corp Eng team. This role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5+ years of software development experience, including data structures/algorithms, testing, maintenance, and launching software products. A year of experience in software design and architecture is also needed. Responsibilities include writing and testing code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, and resolving product/system issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in a technical leadership role and developing accessible technologies. The work involves managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, contributing to Google's internal infrastructure and tools.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
Experience with data structures/algorithms
Software design and architecture experience
Testing, maintaining, and launching software products
Code writing and testing
Design review participation
Code review and feedback
Issue triage and resolution

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS or related field
Technical leadership experience
Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write and test product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
