Electric Square is looking for an accomplished, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Senior Technical Designer to join our Brighton based team working on an exciting, critically acclaimed franchise.

A Senior Technical Designer at Electric Square:

• Realises game features in-engine

• Works closely with the design and engineering team to help architect new features, liaising between them to ensure features and tools meet all requirement

• Can understand and expand existing systems, or create new game systems if necessary

• Builds and implements player-facing features and UI
• Can do rapid prototyping to proof game ideas

• 3+ years of professional experience in mobile or console game development with at least one released project as a technical designer

• Hands-on experience with designer tools and proficient with commercial or proprietary game engines (like Unreal / Unity)

• Proficient in a scripting language (like C# / LUA)
• Experienced with visual scripting (like UE Blueprints)
• Excellent bug diagnosis and debugging skills

Skills:

• Able to concisely articulate game concepts and analyse game mechanics
• Understand feedback and can make a plan to address it

• Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with team members outside of the code team.

• Ability to manage time and workload effectively including planning, organising, and prioritising. Able to break down and structure tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.

• Highly self-motivated with a positive mental attitude and pride in delivering quality
