Nasdaq Verafin is seeking talented Software Development Students to join the team in September 2025. The students will work on the same problems as full-time developers and collaborate with other developers to solve challenging problems and write impactful code. The role involves delivering project requirements, designing solutions, and participating in code reviews. Applicants must include their most recent transcript. Must have:
  • Currently enrolled in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving.
  • Experience in object-oriented software development.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet team goals and timelines.
Good to have:
  • Programming in JavaScript, CSS, REST.
  • Conducting automated testing.
  • Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Understanding of clean code principles.
  • Experience with distributed computing.
  • Knowledge of database technologies (i.e. PostrgeSQL).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies.
  • Aware of data extraction, manipulation/cleansing and integration processes.

Exciting Opportunity: Software Development Student (September 2025) 

We're seeking talented Software Development Students to join our vibrant team in September 2025. In this role, you'll work on the exact same problems as our full time developers. No two days are the same - each day you’ll collaborate with other software developers to solve challenging problems and write code that has an impact in the real world.

What You'll Do: 

  • Collaborate with your team, while delivering project requirements 

  • Design solutions to solve technical problems 

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality 

 

What We're Looking For: 

  • University students who are currently and will be enrolled in a Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science program for September 2025

  • Strong analytical skills for complex and creative problem solving 

  • Experience in object-oriented software development        

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • Ability to meet team goals and timelines 

 

What Additional Experience You Could Bring: 

  • Programming in JavaScript, CSS, REST 

  • Conducting automated testing 

  • Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) 

  • Understanding of clean code principles 

  • Experience with distributed computing 

  • Knowledge of database technologies (i.e. PostrgeSQL)

This position can be located in St. John’s, NL or Toronto, ONT, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 2 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates
