About the role


As an SDET-2, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and infrastructure to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, develop test cases, and automate testing processes, contributing to the overall success of our software development lifecycle.


Roles and responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and infrastructure to support the testing of our software products, including web applications, APIs, and backend services.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand technical requirements, define test strategies, and identify test automation opportunities.
  • Develop and execute automated test cases, scripts, and scenarios to validate software functionality, performance, scalability, and security, using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks.
  • Identify, analyze, and report software defects and quality issues, working closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, trends, and metrics to identify areas for improvement, optimize test coverage, and enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint demos, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Agile practices and processes.
  • Mentor and coach junior SDETs and QA engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to foster a culture of learning, growth, and collaboration within the team.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software testing and quality assurance, and leverage new tools and techniques to continuously improve our testing processes and methodologies.


Experience and qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in mobile app testing, quality assurance, or software development, with a strong focus on mobile test automation.
  • Mobile Testing Tools: Proficiency with mobile automation tools such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, and familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or other mobile-specific testing frameworks.
  • Programming Skills: Solid programming experience in one or more languages commonly used in mobile testing (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python).
  • Mobile Testing Expertise: Deep understanding of mobile-specific testing principles, methodologies, and challenges, with hands-on experience in test planning, test case design, and execution for mobile applications.
  • CI/CD for Mobile: Experience with CI/CD pipelines tailored for mobile app development, and familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Bitrise, or CircleCI.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on addressing the unique challenges of mobile environments, such as varying device hardware, network conditions, and OS versions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to address mobile-specific testing needs.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead mobile-specific testing initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and drive mobile projects to successful completion.
  • Agile Mobile Development: Experience in Agile development methodologies, particularly in the context of mobile app development, and familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
