About the role

As an SDET-3, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and infrastructure to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to lead test strategies, develop test cases, and automate testing processes, contributing to the overall success of our software development lifecycle.


Roles and responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and infrastructure to support the testing of our software products, including web applications, APIs, and backend services.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand technical requirements, define test strategies, and identify test automation opportunities.
  • Develop and execute automated test cases, scripts, and scenarios to validate software functionality, performance, scalability, and security, using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks.
  • Identify, analyze, and report software defects and quality issues, working closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, trends, and metrics to identify areas for improvement, optimize test coverage, and enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint demos, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Agile practices and processes.
  • Mentor and coach junior SDETs and QA engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to foster a culture of learning, growth, and collaboration within the team.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software testing and quality assurance, and leverage new tools and techniques to continuously improve our testing processes and methodologies.


Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software development, with a focus on test automation.
  • Experience with automation tools like Jmeter, Selenium, Appium, Cypress, etc.
  • Solid programming skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices, with hands-on experience in test planning, test case design, and test execution.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior SDETs and QA engineers, lead technical initiatives, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Experience working in Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
