Job Description

Google Cloud seeks a Software Engineer for Platform Security to architect and implement automated security test infrastructure, develop threat models and risk assessments, define security requirements for hardware, and conduct comprehensive security reviews of hardware/firmware components. The role involves providing subject matter expertise to teams designing next-generation data center hardware. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, along with 2+ years of C++ coding experience and debugging skills related to hardware, firmware, and software. The ideal candidate will have an interest in all aspects of computer and network security.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
2+ years C++ coding experience
Experience debugging hardware, firmware, and software issues
Architect and implement automated security tests
Develop threat models and risk assessments

Good to have:

Interest and experience in all aspects of computer and network security
Experience with the entire security lifecycle

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with C++ coding language.
Experience debugging issues relating to hardware, test setup, firmware,
and software.

Preferred qualifications:

Interest and experience in all aspects of computer and network security entire lifecycle from programming, operations, use (including user experience).

Responsibilities

Architect and implement automated security test infrastructure and specific tests to ensure correct and sufficient implementation of security controls for hardware platforms.
Develop and refine threat models, risk assessments, and define security requirements for hardware products entering Google’s data centers.
Provide subject matter expertise to teams designing and developing the next generation data center hardware.
Scope and deliver comprehensive security reviews of hardware/firmware components.
