Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager for Cloud Memorystore at Google, you'll lead and mentor a team of engineers, contributing to product strategy and overseeing large-scale project deployments internationally. Responsibilities include identifying strategic direction and future roadmaps, collaborating with technical leads across locations, ensuring strong execution, managing team growth and career development. You'll need extensive experience in designing and developing distributed systems, managing teams, and familiarity with cloud computing, distributed systems, API design, and Redis or Memcache. The role requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to manage multiple teams and a large product budget.

Must have:

8+ years in distributed systems design & development
5+ years managing engineering teams
Cloud computing, API design, Redis/Memcache experience
Bachelor's degree in CS or related field

Good to have:

Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, or Go experience
Performance optimization/tuning and observability
Database internals or storage systems knowledge

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in designing and developing distributed systems, and 5 years of experience managing teams.
Experience in cloud computing, Distributed Systems, API Design, Redis or Memcache.

Preferred qualifications:

Software development experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, or Go.
Experience in performance optimization/tuning and observability.
Experience with database internals or storage systems.
