Summary

The Sr. Financial Analyst, OPEX, supports the operating expenses domain within the CoE, contributing to the finance transformation roadmap. Key responsibilities include supporting the month-end close process, performing variance analysis, reviewing actual spend, producing monthly cost forecasts, assisting in the annual budget process, and supporting financial reviews of key initiatives. The role requires developing actionable insights to improve profitability, providing insightful reporting, and continuously improving management information. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of FP&A experience, strong analytical and communication skills, advanced Excel skills, and experience with EPM solutions.

General summary:

FP&A Sr Analyst, you support one of the expenses domains within the CoE which offers you a great opportunity to participate in the overall finance transformation roadmap setting standards for the FP&A processes related to operating expenses management.

Your main responsibility is to ensure proactive and timely high-quality forecasting, reporting and analysis in the operating expenses domain. You will develop deep knowledge and competencies in OPEX area to provide business stakeholders with required information to make educated decisions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the month end close process from an FP&A perspective with variance analysis focusing on cost P&L
  • Performing detailed reviews of actual spend with finance business partners and budget holders
  • Summarizing key findings to support discussions and decision making with the business
  • Assisting in the production of the monthly cost forecast submission and updating of related systems
  • Supporting the annual budget process, including the design of templates and the critical review of planning assumptions
  • Supporting the financial review of key initiatives focused on driving business performance, including the creation and analysis of business cases
  • Developing actionable insights which aim to improve business unit / regional profitability
  • Providing insight of financial performance through accurate, timely and relevant reporting
  • Interpretation and clear communication of results reports and analysis
  • Continuous review and improvement of management information
  • Raising queries to FP&A colleagues based on analysis and insights into Management Information
  • Performing ad hoc tasks and reporting related to cost management and governance meetings as appropriate
  • Maintaining and improving the processes supporting financial planning and analysis activities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in Finance function in FP&A department
  • Very good English verbal and written communication skills
  • CIMA / ACCA / CPA certification or in progress would be preferred
  • Knowledge of media industry dynamics and key metrics impacting revenue would be an asset
  • Be able to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure while showing excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in using EPM solution such as SAP BPC, Hyperion, Cognos, OneStream
