About the role :
The Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games represent a historic event that brings together athletes, fans, and officials from across the globe. On Location is seeking an experienced and dynamic Transportation Venue Senior Manager to oversee the Venue transportation and parking operations across three critical clusters: Milano, Cortina–Anterselva–Val di Fiemme, and Valtellina.
The Transportation Venue Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and efficient movement of On Location guests: Commercial Guests, Stakeholders and Custom Groups / Custom Individuals, and logistics across these clusters during the Games. In addition, overseeing Staff transportation from their lodging to place of work if required by Cluster circumstances.
This position requires a strategic mindset, operational excellence, and the ability to coordinate with multiple constituents in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cluster Transportation Oversight:
- Manage all Venue related transportation and parking activities for On Location Guests across the Milano, Cortina–Anterselva–Val di Fiemme, and the Valtellina clusters, ensuring alignment with the MICO2026 (OCOG) overall Games transportation strategy.
- Monitor cluster-specific needs, including all relevant transportation systems: TP, TS, TX and TC as applicable to our Guests and Stakeholders/ Custom groups
- Create in depth understanding of availability of TP (Public transportation system) to On Location Guests.
- Create in depth understanding of TS systems to On Location Guests and Stakeholders, including all Park and Ride / Park and Walk operations.
- Create in depth understanding of P2, P4, P5, P6 and P7 and CIR systems as they are applicable to On Locations Stakeholder clients,
- Train all Cluster staff on above mentioned Olympic Venue related transportation systems.
- Assist in creating “Last Mile” operational plan for Stakeholder & Custom Groups.
Operational Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement venue-specific transportation plans tailored to each cluster's unique requirements and On Locations client groups: Commercial, Stakeholder and Custom Group/ Individual.
- Develop Cluster Map books to be used as educational material for all staff and/ or clients.
- Assist in developing Venue Tours for Client inspections and walk throughs of their Olympic Venue operations in collaboration with Stakeholder and Custom Group Senior Transportation manager.
- Assist in developing Venue Training for all Dedicated Stakeholder and Custom group staff in collaboration with our Stakeholder and Custom group Senior Transportation manager.
- Coordinate with MICO 2026 (OCOG), local authorities, public transport providers, and logistics teams to ensure readiness and operational efficiency.
Coordination:
- Collaborate with the MICO 2026 Games Organizing Committee, local authorities and Public transportation providers on Olympic Venue Transportation and Parking Operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for OCOG Venue transportation staff and liaise on Venue Transportation and Parking -related issues within assigned clusters.
Team Leadership:
- Train, and lead a team of Cluster Venue Transportation managers. Each of the 3 Cluster shall have a Cluster Venue Transportation Manager that will be a direct report. Venue transport coordinators and support personnel will report to and be scheduled by these Cluster managers. Senior manager to ensure and oversee functionality and efficiency of these teams.
- Ensure staff are equipped to handle the scale and complexity of Games Transportation Venue operations.
Event-Time Operations:
- Oversee live Venue Transportation & Parking operations during the Games, managing Key Cluster staff, resolving logistical challenges, and ensuring timely movement of all Commercial, Stakeholder and Custom Groups.
- Monitor and adapt to unforeseen events or disruptions, ensuring continuity and safety.
Post-Games Transition:
- Contribute to legacy planning and knowledge transfer for future events.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation management in major Global Sport Events. Olympic Venue Transportation experience is a key skill for this position.
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-venue transportation networks.
- Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse user groups.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-stakes environment.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in using transportation planning systems and software.
- Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Italian transportation infrastructure and regulations is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Olympic and Paralympic Games transportation standards and Olympic Venue operations is a requirement.
- Language:
- Fluency in Italian and English is required.
Work Conditions:
- Location: Milano. Presence in On Location Milano Office is required.
This position will require frequent travel between the three clusters (Milano, Cortina–Anterselva–Val di Fiemme, and Valtellina).
- Duration: Full-time from 7 January 2025 to 31 March 2026.
- Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
