What is your role?
As a UX Director for Eleventh Hour Games, you will lead from the front and oversee the end-to-end implementation of all UI elements in Last Epoch, from wireframe to final integration inside Unity. This role is ideal for someone who craves ownership and has strong communication and problem solving skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications
- 6+ years in a similar role
- 3+ years directly leading a team
- Work autonomously in a fully remote environment, demonstrating proactive ownership, excellent written communication, and accountability.
- Deep understanding of UX design standards
Responsibilities
- Personally create or refine UI assets and workflows when necessary to support team velocity and quality targets.
- Champion user experience (UX) design across the entire game, including non-UI elements like controls, onboarding, flow, and player feedback systems.
- Define, document, and uphold UI/UX standards for consistency, accessibility, and visual quality across all systems and future content.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Art, and Engineering teams to ensure UI and UX are fully integrated with gameplay systems and technical constraints.
- Own the review and feedback process for all UI/UX work from internal teams and external partners, providing clear, actionable direction.
- Mentor the UI/UX team, including contractors or future hires, ensuring high craft quality, personal development, and studio alignment.
- Advocate for the player experience during feature planning, pipeline discussions, and Live Service/Expansion updates.
- Drive continuous improvement of UI/UX pipelines and tools inside Unity to streamline production and implementation.
- Establish and maintain clear project communication, ensuring all departments are kept informed of UI/UX progress, needs, risks, and dependencies.
- Proactively identify UX risks across systems and recommend practical solutions early in the development cycle.
- Push innovation in UI/UX where appropriate for a modern ARPG audience while respecting Last Epoch’s established visual identity and player expectations.
