Job Description

As a Web Designer, you will be a key player in shaping the digital presence of PassiveLogic. You will design, develop, and maintain a cutting-edge website to showcase the company's innovations in autonomous systems, energy, and the built environment. Your responsibilities include designing website elements and layouts using UI/UX tools like Sketch or Figma, building and implementing an engaging website, enhancing website functionality and performance, troubleshooting technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing graphic design support. You'll be working in a hyper-scale AI company transforming the future of autonomous systems and the built environment. This role offers a career-defining opportunity.

As our Web Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the digital presence of PassiveLogic, leveraging your technical expertise and creative vision to design, develop, and maintain a cutting-edge website that showcases our transformative innovations in autonomous systems, energy, and the built environment.

What you’ll do

Design and Prototype Website Elements and Layouts: Use UI/UX tools like Sketch or Figma to create wireframes, sitemaps, flow diagrams, and mockups, transforming complex ideas into visually appealing, functional designs.

Build and Implement an Engaging Website: Develop a strategic website layout that caters to diverse audiences, ensuring a seamless user experience that aligns with PassiveLogic's brand and mission.

Enhance Website Functionality and Performance: Comfortable making HTML/CSS updates to Bootstrap and/or WebFlow content to support design tweaks and basic site improvements.

Troubleshoot and Resolve Website Technical Issues: Identify and address design, coding, and functionality issues promptly, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted user experience.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure the website design and functionality meet business objectives and customer needs.

Support Graphic Design and Internal Communications: Provide graphic design and illustration support for marketing and internal materials, conceptualizing, developing, and delivering impactful 2D graphics.

You must have

  • Proven experience: 3+ years in web design and development, with a robust portfolio that demonstrates your ability to maintain a consistent design language and showcases both your design and technical expertise.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Strong ability to break down complex technical concepts and craft them into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with a broad audience.
  • Organized and strategic: Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, efficiently managing multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion, while adhering to tight deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborative mindset: Passionate about working with cross-functional teams, contributing to cohesive design projects, and ensuring website designs align with broader marketing objectives.
  • Adaptability: A strong eagerness to learn, iterate, and innovate, with a desire to continuously explore, master, and apply new tools and software in your work.
  • Problem solving: Take ownership of your role by applying strong critical and creative thinking to tackle challenges and find innovative solutions. When issues arise, you’re the empowered force that steps up and resolves them, meeting tight deadlines with confidence.

You should have

  • Web Development Proficiency: Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and/or WebFlow, with working knowledge of JavaScript. Ability to create responsive, high-quality digital experiences, with a focus on building adaptable layouts and optimizing performance across devices.
  • Design Principles & UI/UX Experience: In-depth knowledge of web design fundamentals (layout, typography, color schemes) and proficient in tools like Sketch and Figma to craft visually engaging user interfaces and ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Web Analytics & Optimization: Practical experience in website optimization techniques and web analytics, driving SEO strategies to increase traffic and visibility.
  • Typography & Attention to Detail: Expertise in typography and a keen eye for detail, ensuring visually appealing, user-friendly designs across all digital touch points.

It’s helpful to have

  • Adobe Creative Suite & Motion Graphics: Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and motion graphics software (e.g., Apple Motion, After Effects) for creating visually compelling designs and dynamic content.
  • HVAC & Building Controls Knowledge: Basic understanding of HVAC systems and building control technologies, optimizing comfort, energy efficiency, and performance.
  • Startup & Autonomous Systems/AI Experience: Experience in fast-paced startup environments and promoting autonomous systems or AI technologies, including the ability to translate complex features into clear marketing narratives.
  • Product Support Platform Experience: Experience with product support tools like Zendesk and Freshdesk, using them to enhance customer interactions and improve satisfaction.
