Job Description

The Accounting Analyst role at Google's Finance Operations team involves managing accounting activities, preparing journal entries, reviewing reconciliations, and identifying automation opportunities. Responsibilities include implementing global accounting processes, ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and collaborating with the global team on best practices. A/P Accounting experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or other professional accounting qualification.
4 years of experience with public accounting or industry.
Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with A/P Accounting.
Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and lead/drive complex initiatives.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, with effective business acumen.
Excellent communication skills, and ability to work well separately and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Manage activities, including preparing, analyzing and posting journal entries.
Review reconciliations of balance sheet account balances including relevant reporting for the same.
Identify opportunities to centralize, eliminate, or automate activities. Review processes and implement controls to ensure we are mitigating risk for Google.
Manage, establish, implement global processes for the accounting of initiatives (ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and operational excellence), and prepare for, and assist with internal and external audits.
Collaborate with our global team and advocate best practices to ensure proper accounting is adhered to throughout the procurement process.
