Dynamics of the Role
• The Advisor, Insurance Market Development, International role will support market assessments, research and development efforts, develop strategic insights based on internal & external research, assist in business development strategies, and help execute new business initiatives that align with the International Insurance Business goals and the long-term strategic growth of TransUnion’s seven international regions. This position reports to the VP of Insurance for International.
• The role will support CROs and local Insurance Leaders by assisting in building approaches for the sales organization to engage clients across insurance verticals as defined in regions and the Insurance 3YP. The position will work with regional Go-to-Market (GTM) leadership to help develop and roll out the market development capability, assist in building universal INTL Insurance approaches, playbooks, and programs, and work with regional teams to localize for market nuances to influence overall sales approaches to drive international insurance volumes and profitability.
• The Advisor will use a thorough understanding of the company’s external market to provide subject matter expertise, guidance, reporting and analysis that will drive the success and growth of the products and programs in local markets, allowing for measurable sales improvement in all international insurance markets.
• Also, serving as a counsel to the corporate and local management and the executive teams regarding the results of the market analyses and communicating recommendations, enhancements, and new strategies to assure maximum utilization of our products and services to existing and potential opportunities.

How You’ll Contribute: Market Development Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Local and Insurance Leadership in markets to assist in developing and executing the industry segment development plan(s) by supporting revenue targets with the vertical sales team and other industry revenue quota carriers.
  • Conduct external research and analysis to identify macro trends in the industry and provide analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Engage with key solutions and positioning of products to our clients within segmentation guidelines. Develop meaningful insights into industry issues (critical business issues) and assist in program management to bring solutions to market. Input on new/existing solutions and positioning of products to clients. Assist in developing use cases and best practices to be exported across all insurance markets.
  • Collaborate with the GTM team in developing the supporting content and industrialization of playbooks for insurance sellers and incorporating design input from insurance leaders across the organization.
  • Partner with and support marketing with integrated & focused marketing engagements to develop the industries and prospects (e.g., Thematic Selling campaigns for developing new business opportunities) and Product Marketing on the development of sales enablement materials.
  • Coordinate with local leadership the definition and development of the partner ecosystem to support the industry segment as well as ways to leverage global insurers relationships across the TU footprint.
  • With International Leadership stakeholders, assist in developing and preparing the strategy and three-year operating plan for International Insurance, ensuring alignment of strategy and planning with the lines of business inclusive of investment prioritization.
  • In collaboration with Insurance Leadership, identify and clearly articulate the ‘voice of the customer” for industry-critical business issues and map to the product solution set. Evaluate product efficacy and areas to be developed with supporting business case rationale. In collaboration with the Solutions function, champion new solution development and GTM delivery.

  • This position requires a Masters degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field with 10 years of experience in business development, product innovation, and product management efforts. In addition, candidates should have progressive experience in insurance, data solutions, or information services organizations. Experience working for a management consulting firm is desired, but not required.
  • Display business maturity, strong leadership, and listening skills with the ability to analyze input from customers, partners, internal teams, market, and environmental trends, to identify and clearly articulate needs and opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to persuasively communicate ideas to colleagues demonstrating real-time insight, flexibility, and sound judgment. Ability to develop and manage TransUnion relationships.
  • Strategic-minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, leveraging a strong business acumen, and comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment. Experience with taking a strategic initiative to execution.
  • Must have advanced skills using Microsoft Office tools such as manipulating complex Excel formulas, pivot tables, and charts to provide detailed analytical reports. Solid knowledge using Power Point and managing presentation materials. Salesforce.com, Access and Tableau experience is preferred.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
