C++ Game & Tools Developer

This is an exciting opportunity to join Aristocrat, working fulltime on-site at HRG Studios in Brookvale, Northern Beaches NSW.
HRG Studios are responsible for the most globally successful products in the industry. HRG have a wealth of experience in gaming and are highly passionate about what they do; their most important customer being the player.
They are looking for enthusiastic Game Developer and Software Engineer to join the team, to work in a variety of areas.
The candidate should be a junior or mid-level engineer with strong C++, Python and preferably Linux and/or Embedded software development experience.
What matters is the work attitude and culture the candidate brings with them, with an emphasis on quality over quantity.
They must be capable and willing to work in a team environment, collaborating closely with other team members from all departments. An advantaged candidate would be the one with prior casino gaming experience, or alternately with prior real-time/embedded experience.

What You'll Do

• As a  C++ Game & Tools Developer; you'll do games development for the in-house codebase that supports many game releases.
• Provide support for a variety of in-studio game development needs as required by our designers, peers and partners.
• Within the wider team, perform requirements capture, engage stakeholders & facilitate agreement.
• Meet game-designer expectations.
• Estimate effort in relation to agreed deliverables.
•  Deliver quality software solutions using best practices & appropriate methodologies in accordance with agreed production schedules & quality targets.
• Build reusable software frameworks and solutions.
• Adopt new internal software frameworks, processes and technology.
• Assist with the maintenance of existing codebases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Liaise with Program Management to provide status, estimates etc.
   

What We're Looking For

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science/Electronics or similar
• Strong attention to details.
• A candidate with software development skills.
• Working Knowledge of C++14/17.
• Python knowledge; or desire to learn.
• Experience of Linux environments; or desire to learn.
• Demonstrates ownership, accountability and pride for assigned projects.
• Ability to precisely communicate technical ideas with development team.
• Works with an eye to automate wherever possible.
• This position is 100% onsite and requires daily attendance at our Office in Brookvale.
