Job Description

The College Sports Systems Technician at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the replay system for football matches, conducting pre-match system checks, collaborating with operators, officials, and broadcast staff, monitoring system performance during games, maintaining hardware and equipment, and assisting with the installation and testing of new products. The role requires a background in broadcast/engineering, strong technical skills, the ability to work independently under pressure, excellent communication, and a willingness to work weekends and holidays. This part-time position involves working all home games for the season, starting with training in April and game duties commencing in August.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up the replay system for all Football matches.

  • Conduct pre-match checks of systems to ensure smooth operation.

  • Collaborate with system operators, officials, school production staff, and broadcasters both on-site and remotely.

  • Monitor and maintain technology during games to ensure optimal performance.

  • Maintain hardware and equipment throughout the season, with possible off-season work for maintenance.

  • Assist with installation and testing of new products and services.

Skills:

  • Background in broadcast/engineering with an understanding of signal flow preferred.

  • Strong technical grounding and proactive attitude.

  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a high-pressure, live broadcast environment.

  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
