We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Narrative Designer (Temporary Assignment) to join our team. In this role, you’ll bring characters, quests, and stories to life by writing engaging quests, scripting NPC behavior, and developing items with unique descriptions. 

What We're Looking For:

  • You develop and implement engaging quests and dialogue for in-game experiences using Unreal Engine 5.
  • You script animations and basic AI behaviors for NPCs to create a dynamic and immersive player experience.
  • You write names and detailed descriptions for various items, outfits, and gear, enhancing the lore and depth of the game.

Nice to Have:

  • Game Development Experience: 3+ years experience working in games, either as a writer or narrative designer
  • Narrative Design Experience: Experience working on an Openworld game, or other game with quest-based storytelling
  • Passion for Simulation Games: A genuine interest in and experience playing games in the cozy simulation genre and opinionated about their unique design considerations.
  • Detail-oriented. We need someone who dots every “i” and crosses every “t.” 
  • Passion for Great Gameplay. You know how to put the player experience first and know how to tell a story that blends with gameplay instead of distracting from it.

Salary Information:

This is 3-month temporary assignment position with a possible extension. The assignment extension will depend on your performance and the studio's direction. The Los Angeles hourly rate for this temporary assignment position is $39.90 - $54.33/hour. Hourly rate will be determined by role, level, and location. Please discuss your specific hourly rate expectations for your preferred location during our interview process.

  • Choice of Remote (in approved states) or Hybrid office options in Los Angeles, CA or Orange County, CA unless noted above
  • Aligned to core Pacific Coast hours (10:00am - 4:00pm PT) 
  • Remote eligible locations (the United States): California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington
  • Remote eligible locations (Canada): Quebec Province
