The Position:

The Director of Strategic Initiatives will lead projects that achieve growth, innovation, and competitive positioning for our sports technology company. You will work with executive leadership to implement strategic priorities that align with our mission and long-term vision. This includes leading cross-functional projects, managing strategic planning, and evaluating the latest trends in sports technology to maximize new market opportunities. You will help foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, helping position GameChanger as an industry leader. You will report to our VP of Strategic Initiatives and Impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Market Expertise: Develop an understanding of the youth sports ecosystem, including important partners, user needs, trends, and competitive landscape. Identify and model growth opportunities and opportunities to enhance user engagement within this market. 

  • Strategic Development: In partnership with the VP of Strategic Initiatives and Impact, President, and the leadership team, define clear strategic goals and growth priorities. Create and refine long-term growth plans and priorities that align with GameChanger’s vision for transforming youth sports. Develop applicable roadmaps for both all market segments. Ensure alignment with GameChanger’s overall long-term strategy for a youth sports platform.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Act as a strategic advisor across product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and applicable market insights. Lead consultants and cross-functional project teams to deliver high-impact projects on time, ensuring alignment with our goals and maximizing outcomes.

  • Data-Driven Decision-making: Lead the strategy for data gathering, ensuring user research, competitive analysis, and internal data are used effectively. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess initiative impact and inform continuous improvement.

  • Innovation and Market Differentiation: Stay ahead of industry trends and the latest technologies in youth sports. Identify and advocate for ideas and projects that differentiate GameChanger in a competitive landscape.

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks, challenges, and external factors that may affect growth. Develop risk mitigation plans and advise the leadership team on strategies to navigate market uncertainties.

Who You Are:

  • Strategic Experience: 8+ years of experience in strategic roles in strategy consulting, high-growth startups, sports, media, or technology sectors.

  • Analytical and Research Skills: Advanced analytical skills with a track record in conducting market research and leveraging data to drive strategy.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Proven ability to lead and influence across functions, driving complex initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Domain Passion: An understanding and enthusiasm for youth sports and the potential of technology to enrich the sports experience for athletes, coaches, and families.

  • Strategic Vision & Execution: Ability to balance strategic vision with execution; able to define and translate high-level strategies into impactful action plans.

  • Communication and Project Management: Exceptional communication skills, can present strategic insights to executive leadership and shows project management skills with an emphasis on stakeholder alignment.

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive and innovative mindset with a drive to explore new opportunities, challenge the status quo, and navigate change and ambiguity with agility.

The target salary range for this position is between $200,000 and $220,000. This is part of a total compensation package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
