Job Details

Beyond Creative is currently on the look out for an Experienced UEFN Verse Programmer on a short term contract. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining advanced gameplay systems and features using Verse, the programming language of UEFN. You will work closely with creators and producers to create high-quality, engaging gameplay experiences within the Fortnite ecosystem. Your role will involve a combination of technical expertise and creative problem-solving to bring innovative ideas to life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Advanced Programming: Develop and maintain complex gameplay systems, features, and mechanics using Verse within the UEFN platform.

-Collaboration: Collaborate with creators and producers to implement and iterate on game features, ensuring they meet design specifications and player expectations.

-Optimization: Optimize code for performance and memory usage to ensure smooth and responsive gameplay experiences.

-Debugging: Identify and fix complex bugs and issues in a timely manner to maintain the stability and quality of the game.

-Testing: Conduct thorough testing of gameplay features to ensure they function as intended and meet high-quality standards.

-Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of code, systems, and workflows to support collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.

-Innovation: Contribute creative ideas and technical solutions to enhance gameplay and player engagement within the Fortnite platform.

-Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior programmers, sharing best practices and technical knowledge.

-Community Engagement: Stay informed about the Fortnite community and emerging trends to ensure that gameplay features remain relevant and appealing to players.

YOU HAVE:

-Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in programming within Unreal Engine or UEFN, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.

-Technical Skills: Proficiency in Verse or similar programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Lua). Strong understanding of Unreal Engine or UEFN and its subsystems.

-Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

-Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take and provide constructive feedback effectively.

-Portfolio: A robust portfolio demonstrating your programming skills and successful projects within Unreal Engine or UEFN.

Extensive experience with scripting or programming specifically within the Fortnite UEFN environment.

In-depth knowledge of Fortnite’s gameplay mechanics, art style, and community standards.

Familiarity with multiplayer game development and networked gameplay systems.

Proven track record of successful projects in user-generated content and community-driven initiatives.

Excellent verbal and written English skills.

Works within the EU time zone.
