For the Logistic department we are searching for an EHS Representative. The candidate will work together with other EHS professionals to support the department on environmental, health and safety topics. In addition to the official role description, which is defined in §6 of the occupational safety act, a basic knowledge on health and environmental topics as well as knowledge about the German workplace directives are key for this role. The perfect candidate is a strong communicator (in English and German) and work independently and together with multiple teams.

The candidate will report to the EHS Manager and play a key role in the continuous improvement process in the Logistic department, support incident investigations and propose effective and efficient measures.

Responsibilities

·         Support Managers and Supervisors in compliance related topics such as coordinating risk assessments, mitigation of these risks, coordinating the Safety Operating Procedures, tracking the yearly safety instructions, etc.

·         Support Managers and Supervisors to select the suitable control measures within the STOP Principle (Substitution, Technical, Organizational, Personal)

·         Support Managers and Supervisors in recording events like injuries, illnesses, near misses and property damages and their learnings.

·         Organizing periodical communication with Managers and Supervisors regarding risks, events, training and other KPI’s.

·         Support Authority visits and inspections.

·         Work together with other Specialists on Machine Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Hazardous Chemicals/Materials, ATEX, health programs, etc.

Requirements

·         Experience as an occupational safety specialist. A focus on the automotive industry is desired.

·         Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or other Safety-related discipline, Engineering, supply chain operation or similar applicable field or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred.

·         Completed training as a specialist for occupational safety (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit)

·         Training in the field of Hazmat, ATEX, fire protection, CE representative or laser and radiation protection is desirable.

·         Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced, and collaborative environment while creatively solving problems.

·         Demonstrated experience in implementing EHS policies and programs across diverse teams.

·         Very good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, ability to build strong relationships.
